In the spirit of this discussion... What's the fastest you were going when you were caught by the cops? For me: 98mph (160 kph approx.)

    Fun times

A month or so ago I blew by a cop running radar on the interstate (which is a 65 MPH zone) going 90 with nobody around me and he didn't even bat an eye...love my car.

Today I would have been nabbed by a radar trap, but I saw it. They had a car on an overpass at the top of a hill radaring people and four police cars under the overpass pulling them over. I was going 95 MPH when I saw the radar car and cut right down to 65...that was luck.

I've been driving for 5.5 years now, I was goi g home the other day and I was going 35ish, a cop pulls me over and says do you know why I stopped you?
I say no, I told him I was going 35ish and I thought that was the speed limit, he tells me I was going 40 (I am thinking to myself at this point...boohoo 5 mph ) but the sentense continues in a 25mph zone! My jaw dropped to the bottom of the car lol, It would have been a $150 ticket but he gave me a warning

I got caught 97 km/h in a 60 zone -- crap ! I have the court date in June -- hmm, see what I can do...

Hey, killa-b, what's you secret, man ? -- how do you manage to dodge them radar traps, m ?

I've never been stoped because of speeding in the highway ...
Damn - I know the DVP is 90 yet I still drive 140 Wrongster, which area should I look for, man ?
Usually when I'm on the highway I check my mirror quite often and look far ahead.

ouch! that's gotta suck! sometimes the old folgies drive fast too...only at traffic lights turning green.

areas in OTT that ppl should look out for:

-Smyth Road over the bridge onto main st. at the very end, it is a common speed trap. (dad got caught, but was ticketed for 14.5km/h or something like that over the speed limit. i think the cop was nice and just reduced dad's speed so that it wouldn't count as a demerit pt off).

-Conroy road heading towards Hunt Club Rd. cop pulled over behind the railroad tracks facing you.

1 area in TO that i know of:
-Steeles...heading towards PMall, right before the overpass that is next to...i think the old kenny rogers. forgot what it is called now.

remember that thanksgiving weekend OPP blitz? i was cruising at a cautiously soso 130km/h, i pass by a bridge thinkin this would be a bridge where no cops would be. i pass it and i look left cuz i see white colours. OMG FREAKING GOD! COPS!! i quickly slow down, but i don't think noticed me, cuz i think they were preparing the speed trap. FEWPH! halfway through the trips i already passed by 2 major speed traps. 1 was scary! i didn't see it, cuz they meshed in the dark dark blue OPP cars in the middle grass field. the thing that gave them away was that they left their headlights on. "hmm, lights in the middle of the highway?!?! i wonder what that could be! better slow down..."

WHY CAN'T WE USE FREAKING RADAR DETECTORS!!! GRRR :@

    can't use them ?!

    no such thing, guys !

We can (to be read able) to use them radar detectors here in Canada even though it's illegal.
I wonder how them cops expect to enforce such law ... search or look into your car ?! Haaa-HA-HAHAHA !

Now, can someone recomend me a good detector -- the best even ? ...!

Well, since I'm in the USA, these are in MPH:

86 Mustang LX 2.3 - 90-95. That's about all she will do. It's my first car that I've had since '92. 172K and still running STRONG!!

97 Mustang Cobra - 120 before I chickened out. Limited at 140-145, IIRC. That car was SO MUCH FUN!

99 Escort (Wife's car) - 100 before she woke up! Seemed like that was about it - maybe topped at 105 or 110.

00 Explorer - 105 on the infamous Firestone tires. Seemed like it would pull to 110 or so, but I chickened out - something about 3000+ lbs barreling down the road on marginal tires...I was actually surprised - that 4.0 SOHC and 5 speed auto really had some power up past 75 or so.

yea it was 1/4 of a block from my house. at baseline and centerpointe. so i was slowing down to turn, and he was sitting in a church parking lot, and BANG. i could see my house from where he pulled me over.

i dont know i guess i have very good luck, like i said i avg 140 on the QEW and you all know my top speed, and on most roads i do 15-20 over the limit (ise baseline i do 80-90 most of the time (well not any more) and hun club i do 100-120.

im never all the worried about radar trps on "normal roads" i just look ahead, and almost never ever see traps.

on the qew i look for the impalas, and stuff.

hehe, sometimes u just can't look up ahead to look for cops. sometimes they're hidden very well. anyway, it's a really good idea to memorize the headlights of these cop cars.
