and HOW does a stock porsche 911 turbo (actually twin-turbo) or 911 GT2 (same car, but more hp) not meet the requirements to be an exotic supercar? :rolleyes2Originally posted by inventory
BTW, a stock 996 carerra WILL NOT go 200mph, that is a very exclusive club of cars which have the frame, suspension, lights, transmission, brakes, engine and aerodynamics to do the "double ton". You really need to have the whole package or else you're looking to get killed. A Mclaren F1 (BMW engined) will only do 214 or so, and that car is considerably more on edge than a 996.
477hp
472 lb ft of torque
0-60 in 4.0 secs (conservative estimate)
top speed 198mph (give or take its still in the 200mph club)
all specs were taken directly from porsches web-site
thats sounds pretty exclusive to me.... IMO
as for the F1, well, thats a different story... 1 million dollars for 1 car versus a "measly" $200k for the GT2, F1 is what some call "ultra exclusive, extra exotic" totally different price ranges
The carerra gt is enough for me thank you.![]()
I won't mind taking the McLaren!
I was talking about a standard normally aspirated 996 (newest 911 variant) carrera, which WILL NOT go 200 mph. The twin-turbo will, as I say in my previous post, however, I think they're limited to 155 mph when they leave the factory, my uncle's is at least (so it says in the manual, no one's tested it). The Porsche performance center or RUF could easily remove that restriction, but it's required of German cars leaving the factory.Originally posted by phatroyale

Beefed up with an oversized rad, upgraded brakes, heavy duty steelies, customized interior, air horn and stripes?Originally posted by Schmohey

Cop car engines are stock. (Normal cruisers)
some of the OPP's highway patrol cars have the 4.6L H.O. from the mustang GT.
toronto's cruisers have the 4.6L about 230-250HP.
We have CHP Camaro SS police cruisers around here. All white with no lights and no ramming bumper, not very easy to spot, dirty bastards.
I've heard Wyoming, with it's "Safe and Sane" speed limit plan, utilizes several Viper cruisers (What lucky pig gets to drive that??!!!), but that may not be true.
dont think porsches are speed-limited,Originally posted by inventory

doesnt the opp have this undercover minivan now?
i saw it near progess ave/scarborough town centre area
last time i drove by..... thought it was weird seeing a greyish/
blackish minvan parked half the curb with a radar gun![]()
stealth as ****!!
95-100 mph may not seem that fast but you must take into consideration that I was in a giant gmc yukon XL Denali
The fastest I have gone is 155mph (~250 kph) in my 91 IROC Z-28... Some little 5.0 mustang was *trying* to race me. It was the middle of the night and no one was around on a nice, long, straight stretch of new road.
Damn I miss my Z!![]()
165mph in a 1995 3000gt vr4
155 (governed) in a 1996 Mercedes S600
