    BlueTooth Driver Installation

    Hi everyone!

Problemo: I started up my PC as usual, my BT icon would come up in the status bar (Lower right taskbar). After about 30 seconds I would get an error mesage, saying the stack device could not be started.

I though OK, I'll just uninstall the drivers and install some new ones! The latest version I could find was 1.4.2, so after downloading it and clicking next a couple of times I came to the button Install.
And that's were the real problem starts. The meter goes quite fast, but stops at about 70% or so. The patient guy that I am, I gave the install 2 more hours... nothing changed. I tried downloading the drivers again and from different sites (different company's drivers), but they all stop at about 70%.
So I tried installing my old drivers which worked a long time untill the first error appeared. (1.3.2.7) And that one stops as well!!!!

After cleaning up the registry from all that is Widcomm I came a bit further, but now the installation crashes at "Deleting Driver Bin Files". PLEASE HELP ME .

Could someone please help me? I'm so desperate that I'm willing to eat my Bluetooth USB stick! It's a Sitecom CN-500.

Well first of all I would remove the BT adapter and then go to Add/Remove programs to make sure no BT programs are installed. Then to the C:\ or wherever and delete all folders related to the BT adapter.

Then, get a program called jv16 power tools to clean your registry. Restart without the Bt adapter in and then Download and install the latest drivers from the manafacturers website.

Make sure you close all programs when installing, suh as Anti Virus programs.

    I hope this helps.

Not yet, but I will try that shortly. Although I would like the dongle to work on this PC without installing Windows all over again.

edit: every install attempt hangs on "status: uninstalling bluetooth network adapter."

downloaded jv16 and cleaned out all references to "bluetooth," "linksys" and "widcomm" and it still hangs on reinstall attempts.

instead of using the cd install, i also downloaded the drivers direct from linksys. no luck.

erk... i swear i read "painless" and "easy" on the product box.

    Bluetooth Billionton Drive Install hangs

I have the same problem as SLOFSKY. Did anyone resolve the issues? The installation on Win2000 server hangs at "deleting Driver Bin Files". I also notice that after the install hangs there is a rogue process "Msiexec.exe" which cannot be killed.

    Can someone help me?

i can't help, you with the installation/uninstal problems,

but i got an MSI BT and it works just fine, just do remember that for USB 1, try to use the port 0 or the 1st USB port and it should be no problem at all, m not sure about USB 2 though... i always thought that it is not a BT quirks, but rather a USB quirks...
i use my cellphones too much, my brains are fried...

dont know if anyone mentioned this or has tried it yet but after you removed the dongle you go to the device manager and hit the scan for hardware changes. If this doesn't work you can remove your usb controllers from that list and the scan for changes. sometimes this allows you to uninstall drivers associated with usb.

    good luck
