Having read it through, the main additions from the GX20 are a 1 megapixel camera, , a higher capacity battery, SD card slot, MP3 player and Bluetooth.
Physically the GX30 has a bigger external display (96x64) and the speaker has moved from the back to the front.
Disappointments are that it doesnt *seem* to be able to play MP3 ringtones, still a lack of alerts for calendar entries and the mobile light colours still can't be assigned to different callers.
and there is still a visible antenna.
This is not the finished manual though, with large chunks seemingly copied directly from the GX20 manual.
The rest is up to Vodafone. If they release the kind of Java applications that this phone is capable of, such as TV/Video remote control apps, Java cartoon characters that can access your phonebook and tell you who you haven't called in a while, and Java standby screens that never standby, then this phone will be very good.
but do you think there will be non-vodafone version?? perhaps like a hongkong version??? gx32 or smthing... coz i dont like the whole vodafone customising the menu screen and stuff...
Heh, I just email Sharp Singapore an article on why they dun carry mobile phones in Singapore. I can foresee the GX-30 to be a hit in Singapore. Hope Sharp Singapore wakes up and I can see the GX-30 in Singapore market.
excellent featureset but what happened to the styling of the phone!
they are gonna have to sell this phone on features alone because on looks it doesnt have a chance!
what a shame - man i'm dissappointed.
do know about u guys but i dont think we need a 1mega pixel camera on a mobile phone - just think of the size of the images and how the hell are we gonna email them across from the phone when GPRS is still relatively slow.
but i like the SD slot idea.
personally i think they should have traded the 1mega camera for a camera a little bit better than the GX20 (that was a good cam phone) and then worked more on the styling.
For me, I definately will go for that but i gotta sell it away my GX-22s 1st!
I'll go more on the functions. The design not bad looking IMO. Dunno what colours for the kyeypad lightings. GX-22s sucks is using like Nokia 8210 fade light green colours.
Anyone knows the pricing? Well, maybe I'll wait till SmartFone version or "S" version that support Simipified Chinese & English Inputs.
I think at least gonna wait 3 months till it get to Singapore.

You don't send the hi-res pics anywhere.
You put them on the SD card, and print them out at home, or you can take them to those new photo booths for instant good quality 4x6 snaps.
