Question about adding symbols to a text message

Whenever I try to add a symbol in a text message or even when I'm adding symbols to a phone book contact, why doesn't my T160 highlight which symbol I'm selecting?

I get into the "add symbol" menu, and see the ; - ' " / etc but when I go to choose a symbol, I have no clue which one my T610 is selecting. Basically I have to use trial and error....no highlight of the current symbol I've selected.

Are you using a non SE theme on your phone right now?
