Fido International Roaming Charges

For those travelling abroad and roaming using Fido, be sure to check the charges of the networks of the country you're visiting as they can vary wildly between carriers. One example is for the Philippines as listed in Fido's website:

Local calls:
Sun: $0.40
Globe: $0.45
Smart: $0.69

Calls to Canada (peak/off-peak):
Sun: $0.97/$0.97
Globe: $3.96/$3.00
Smart: $5.49/$4.16

In the UK, never use Vodafone as they charge like crazy. Unfortunately I speak from experience here.

That's why Smart have huge billboards at the arrival area of the airport here encouraging visitors to roam on them for "nationwide coverage" and they even have promo booths as well after the customs/immigration area with people behind the counter to show visitors how to manually select Smart
