    just wanted to know how it's pronounced..
    Ericsson / Sony Ericsson, the choice of:
    • Charlie's Angels

    I believe it is indeed pronounced like "see-mens". Unfortunately, it does sound like a male excretion. Siemens is quite big in Europe and they sell stuff like fridges, appliances and other household items.

    BTW: Siemens was founded 1847 in Berlin and currently employs about 484.000 people. Businesses are Information and Communications, Automation and Control, Power, Transportation, Medical, Lighting, and Financing and Real Estate. Sales in 2001 were 87 billion Euros.

    Just to amend that for the US:
    Here, Siemens employs more than 80,000 people and the 2001 sales exceeded $ 20bn.
    The best known Siemens companies in the US are Siemens Westinghouse Power Generation, Siemens Medical Solutions (includes Acuson), Siemens Energy & Automation, and Osram Sylvania.
