revising there including servises and going to charge for it in the future(they deleted "WAP incl."from different accounts in different times,my after 12 pm today). How I suppose to know if I will not be charge for data.
I have nothing written on my contract where it says "WAP including". It was only on T-M website("My account").
Maybe they're fixing the feature. I read in several previous posts that T-Mobile didn't mean to give unlimited free WAP access and only meant to give unlimited free access to one of their sites that allows you to buy ringtones and pictures and stuff. To tell you the truth, that makes much more sense for them than giving everyone free unlimited WAP access.
Because nobody in the forums has ever had a mysterious "data" charge show up.Originally posted by andyhrn

Nowhere does T-Mobile ever charge by the KB or MB.
Here's what mine says online...

yeah...technically it was only the default wap deck that was supposed to be free...to make it easier to download ringtones and games...T-Zones is supposed to allow full access and also a customized deck that you can set up online.
I just checked my services a couple of minutes ago and "Wap access included" is now removed from my list. I have a pocket pc smartphone and am still able to browse and download mail. I was on the 19.99 plan but removed it because of the free wap. For the past couple of months I am not getting charged for any MB used. Does that mean that I will be charged from MB right now?
I'm not good with data devices, but I'm pretty sure it all depends on how you access. Fill me in if I'm wrong, but on data devices you have wap that you can access, but you also have another way to connect. You can use actual internet sites and do many things that can not be done from a regular phone. If you are doing that kind of stuff, you'll be charged VPN charges...and that's why you need to have the data plan. Like I said, I'm not 100% sure about that, but you should definately check with the wireless data department. Better check now before you get charges that end up being over 20 bucks.
I just called Tmobile and spoke to one of their CSRs and he said that all GPRS is free. He said that free wap gets you to the TZone site, but will charge for downloading of ringtones, wallpapers, etc. I then said, I can go to other WAP sites without a problem. And he then said, ok yes, if the phone allows you to do that, then you are ok. If we are allowing you to do so under the free gprs, then it is free. Hope he is right.
again...I'm not good with data devices...did you talk to the Wireless Data Department? You should find out EXACTLY what the differences in GPRS and VPN connections are...and find out exactly what the difference is in accessing...I mean, think about it...if there's a 20.00 data plan...it's gotta be for something, ya know?
and then let me know what you find out too...hehe
The $19.99 plan allows FULL, unlimited access to the Internet.
"FREE WAP" and t-zones only allows unlimited access to limited ports on the internet:
SMTP (for sending email)
WAP/HTML (for browsing)
POP3/IMAP4 (for reading email)
You can't go to secure web sites, telnet, stream media, use MSN Messenger, etc.
So, it is ok for me to pop my email with free wap? GREAT! Thanks for your help!!
I POP and SMTP with my SPV e100 all day long for free ..![]()
