I'm guessing it's doing it to save batteries, but it's still really annoying.
While im writing in a text message, and i pause for like 5 seconds, the screen turns off.. (black screen) when i press any random button, it turns on again..
5 seconds.. every 5 seconds.. im gettin really annoyed..
i think this is the reason my bluetooth ain't working either..
i managed to pair my computer and phone, and my phone connects to my pc, but after like 3 seconds, it goes back to the "received message" screen, and a note comes up saying it's disconnected from my pc.
anyone know how to get my phone to stop doing this?
There is a setting for both the phone's backlight and also the screen saver. The manual will show you where to find the settings...
Bluetooth may be a little tricker, but you should have a look on your PC before you blame the phone. It boils down to the version of Windows you are running and more importantly, the bluetooth adapter that you are using. I had a belkin USB adapter (Version 1) and it was a total pain. I bought a Version 2 which looks just a little different, but the software and drivers were much better... so this may give you some things to take a look at. Once you have paired the phone, there is little else to do with the phone excpet perhaps to disable bluetooth if you are trying to save battery life.
THANK YOU... so much!! im tryin not to stress out.. it's my first phone, and I'm having unexpected problems... ^^
For the bluetooth.. I have DSE Class 2 bluetooth, and have windows xp.. funny enough, i think ive screwed up some settings of USB in my computer by installing bluetooth coz my printer's stopped working... (had to hand re-write out my essay last night..........................) should I just return the bluetooth, and get the data cable when it comes out? (this phone is new in NZ)
is it easier to use?
im re-trying the bluetooth right now, but my phone keeps turning off when i press [Find Me]
what do you reckon?
The "find me" option only powers up the bluetooth for a short period of time - it'd be better to turn it on properly (under "setup" just change the power option to "on"). This will still shut off after a short while if nothing gets paired to the phone to save on battery life, but it's much longer than the "find me" option which is really brief.
Once BT is all sorted, you can do "find me" as all your setup will already be in place and you can just re-pair your PC and phone.
