I am getting ready to get out of my contract(my year is up) and the phone i currently have is under my moms name. I have well enough credit to get approved for 5? phones no deposit.(When i went into Watson that's what it said) Would it be possible to KEEP my old number and (closing the account with my moms name) and opening up my own account with my name and my old current number? Does this qualify as "WLNP"? or just a change of responsibility?

It's not WLNP since you are not changing carriers. I believe a COR requires a contract extenstion, but you can keep your plan.
just get a new account and get your disc off of the phone and then go with your mom to get a change of responsibility to get your old number back.
