Few carriers have international interconnect agreements in place for MMS...it's the same reason why you couldn't send SMS to people on other US carriers for some time, as their systems have to be connected.

I tried to MMS my friends' phone in Hong Kong and The Netherlands, but they didn't recieve anything. I then MMS to their emails and it works, so I don't think it is my GPRS settings that is screwing things up. Can anyone have an idea on this or had it happened to them. Or it's just we can't MMS internationally to people's phone period.

But I could send SMS to those people no problem. Just not MMS
because we HAVE sms agreements/interconnections now. Go back a few years and we didn't. Same for MMS, there are very few agreements for MMS therefore sending through email will work since there are established email gateways on the various providers.Originally posted by ramenkit
