HELP - How to UNBLOCK a private number when placing calls??
Hey all,
I have my account with call privacy enabled, therefore my number always comes up blocked, but i'm wondering how i can disable it when i want the other person to see when i'm calling.
with my old nokia on a tdma account i could do this by pressing *82 and the number, but i cannot get this to work on my NEW GSM account with the Mot. T193.
I called customer service and they had pretty much no clue what i was talking about, big surprise there, and then eventually said try using #31# and the number....but this did not work either.
anyone know how to get this to work. No i don't want to unblock my number and then block it when necessary, that too much of a hassel. I only want to unblock it where necessary.
with every gsm phone that i've tried (that's not many :P ) but there's a function to show or block your number. U have to go into the menu to find it.
I found mine in three different locations (on t68) on the "secret" display using the >>*> whatever code.... under options for each number in my phone book.... and under my display options.
Yeah it works for the tdma network for but Gsm it doesn't work. If your number is blocked by rogers there's nothing you can do to unblock it, however if your number is displayed and you want to block it, #31# works..
theres a unblocking method on the phone menu of 8260?
im pretty sure there isnt..
where is it?
Well you have to sorta add it in yourself. I just did it for mine...
On my 3360, you go to Settings -> Network Services -> Network Feature Setting -> Feature Code = *67 -> Send Own Caller ID -> No -> It will say "Feature Saved In Menu". Maybe it's something like that on the 8260...
But if you want to use it from a menu, you will have to go to Settings -> Network Services -> Send Own Caller ID -> No -> Type/Find Phone Number -> OK. So I think it is easier to just type *67 each time, unless there's a shortcut I don't know about.....
Hope this doesn't cost me anything on my bill, but I've tried it once and I should find out soon, on my next bill...
