I followed the instructions and everything went smoothly. The LCD ribbon and the flip take some delicate effort, but everything else seems straight forward. It took me about an hour. Thanks again for the good instructions.
All the plugs were included! I even got the torx and an opening tool.
My v500 now looks like new.
Now I just need to flex this baby, so I can get rid of the orange software!

i found this interesting video of a guy doing a full housing swap on either a v400 or a v505 its not that great quality wise but the video is excellent so here it is
I just got two new housings...an original silver color and a black one...no keypads were included with the housing, but their keypads look like they have all the right stuff where it needs to be, because I have one of them too.
They also have the torx screw driver and a faceplate remover which you can use to stick it down along the sides instead of a flat head.
be careful, because remember that ribbon cable you dissasembles? its still connected through the flip to the main part of the phone. to undo this, you will see a small slot where the ribbon cable barely slides through. Again....wish i had a pic of this, as is searched for an hour trying to get the ×××× phone into two pieces.
HELP!!! i am stuck on this part...is the slot the one at the side of the flip or the one near the middle???
i've tried both and neither seem big enough to fit the connector part
PLEASE HELP!!!
thanks in advance
EDIT: i did it! but now my ribbon is majorly messed...ah well
Help! I was doing just fine changing my v551 housing but ONE of the screws won't come out! It won't even move the Torx just spins. I thought it was my Torx but its new and it worked fine on all the other screws. So now I'm stuck. Can anyone help?!

try tilting your screwdriver at a slight angle when you turn. Also, as you angle and screw out, pull up slightly. It workes for me at least.
Good luck.
