what are the settings for t-mobile's gateway? do i hve to put in an IP address or something? this is crazy MY wap is free today pop3 e-mail and everything is back to normal. and all this with the regular phone settings fom the store i bought it from. i have a nokia 6230. i wasted my time getting tzones now they arae saying i was only giving one month free not 2 so im getting rid of tzones and will enjoy my free wap.
The $5 will no longer get you much, if I interpret their latest brouchure. It will only give you "Free T-Zones" and "Free Email". It is not even clear that all wap-access will be enabled unless you get the T-Zones Pro $10 plan. However, the website clearly states:
"Unlimited t-zones
(includes unlimited Internet e-mail and Mobile Web content)"
To get full internet on an internet-ready phone like my nokia 3650, will require the full $20 plan. No more free surfing, (even port 80 http sites), whether open or secure.
This policy appears effective August 1. It appears to be intended for all T-Zones customers, paying or not prior to that date.
They never defined how far T-Zones will get you. There may not be anything to be done as far as a class action.
Suppose your local cable company made a mistake, and gave you all premium chanels for free. If your contract only says "basic cable" then they are entitled to stop the premium service without it being a breach of contract.
So it is possible that people can get their "free wap" returned, if it says "free Wap included" on the bill. But they may still be entitled to charge for other sevices many of us have gotten used to.
It looks like I may have gotten spoiled by full internet on the phone. It is definitely like a pusher giving it away to make me hooked. I have now committed to a $5 habit. It may become a $20 habit.
Yep.... For the people that say it's "only" $5 dollars now....It will get worse!!! $5 will turn into $20 per month later... per EACH line... Got 4 lines? That sort of "adds" up.
PS: On that "free e-mail... does it "allow" you to e-mail pictures without any addtional charges?

Originally posted by Zim I was pointed by one CSR to their terms of service. Basically what it says is that they can cancel the "free" services on any plan without any notification or any liability. My argument was that once you sign up and pay for a specific package with specific specified features, then there's nothing that's "free". Of course, I may as well have been arguing with the tree at the bottom of my yard. Going by their rationale they could cancel my free minutes, my free night-time calling, and my free weekend calling, without breaking the service agreement or providing any compensation.
That’s why T-Mobile has that arbitration crap in the contract…..
They can do no wrong and can do whatever they please… (Especially when the “arbitrator" is on their payroll.. "Cash" payroll if you know what I mean..)
So does anyone in the NYC area have their internet access working? They said it would be fixed today.... not working for me.
Quote from Nokia rep when I was disputing their claim that my 8890 had "liquid damage" and thus they had no obligation to fix it: "Yes, it could have been caused just by using the phone outside on a humid day, but that voids the warranty."

well havent you read this thread? where do you live? in NJ its still free. if not then you will have to pay. i just loaded the page on my pocket pc via BT. i would encourage everyone to try my settings. dont put any ip or proxy address in. and dont put an gprs access point in. just have your homepage address wap.voicestream.com. the only page i cannot get to is tzones. if you put the ip 216.155.165.50 yea i get tzones but i dont need it.
Hmm. anyone know how to reset the Treo 600 to reset network issues? I know once when I called TMobile and WAP wasn't working, they had me reset it a certain way and lo and behold the internet worked again afterwards. I already tried pressing in the reset button of course.
Unless it's just still down in NYC. I can "connect" to TZones (as in, I get the message it "Established" but I just can't go anywhere.....

I asked the same question about an SE 610 in a different thread, and someone suggested just removing and replacing the battery. After doing this, I got a GPRS connection and not the "Failed to connect for an unknown reason" I'd been getting (but still couldn't get to my mail servers).
I tried again tonight and got the error, so it may just have been a coincidence that things changed after the battery removal.
