It took 3 hours after adding Tzones for my web/mail access to come back.
It's now up and working fine.

Are you paying $4.99/mo for T-Zones? If not, you're SOL.

Well, that didn't take them long...the free wap on a pocket pc stopped, even with the t-zones added.

I had to go with the $20 /month plan. Still not bad for unlimited internet.

I have just tried to visit my wapsite again five month after my last visit. http://tagtag.com/edangs

to my suprise, i was directed to the GPRS sign-up page.

i started reading forums to find out whats going on.

I thought that a $39.99 GSM network monthly plan definition is as follows:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    GSM Services

A brief outline of GSM Services is below.

    Call waiting & Call hold

    SMS (short messaging service)

    Data Services

Using your GSM phone to receive and send data is the essential building block leading to widespread mobile Internet access and mobile data transfer. GSM currently has a data transfer rate of 9.6k. New developments that will push up data transfer rates for GSM users are HSCSD (high speed circuit switched data) and GPRS (general packet radio service) are now available.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

as part of my GSM monthly plan, i can recieve and send data at a rate of 9.6k.
that is why i can visit wap sites with the wap browser in my GSM phone.

if i want faster rate, then thats when i sign up for an 'optional' GPRS (t-zones,mMode, etc.)

SO WHY THE HELL ARE THEY FORCING ME TO SIGN-UP FOR AN 'OPTIONAL' GPRS SERVICE BY DISABLING MY (9.6k Rate) DATA TRANSFER SERVICE THAT IS PART OF MY MONTHLY GSM PLAN?

    WHATS GOING ON T-MO??

Do I smell a Law Suit???

Explain please. You mean like a 56k ISP for your PC dialup? Or CSD dialup?

If your talking 56k dialup, please tell me how you are setting that up as my attempts always failed.. it dials out tho.. but I didnt get any access.. not sure. So explain more please. Thanks.

Also still looking for someone to know more about HTTP tunnels for WAP. Meaning host your own WAP access server so you can get on WAP from your phone by connecting to your PC at home for a gateway. I saw some free ones for Unix based.. and 1 pay one for Win32.. anyone know a free way?

Since the title of this thread is no longer applicable, I'm un-sticking it. If necessary, maybe it can be renamed.

When you say Win32, do you mean it will work on any Windows-based machine? Like Win2k? Also, what program is this? I'd gladly pay for it one time so I can have WAP on my prepaid phone again.

    Thanks.

Ok so your set for a ISP that is liked used for a PC dialup, correct?

Also the IP you use, where would you figure out which one is correct?

As for the question about HTTP Tunnel, I made a question post either in here or s60 forums. Just do a search on my name that starts the post, should be there, someone posted the link. Never tried it yet as I would rather have free. =)

OK, I tried to go to my ip address (an appache server I host--I stuck in my first attempt at a WAP page) via Office Tools//WebAccess//Go To URL and I get directed to some crap asking me to pay $4.99 per month (some crap = tzones).

TZones is sprinkled all throughout the phones menus (always trying to nickel and dime me on the fees).

    (1) is there anyway to bypass this tzone thing and access the webpage on my server free? Can I do this by doing a firmware or flex update? Is there a way to setup the phone with a different gateway address or such?

    (2) Is there a way to remove all the tzone links? Perhaps firmware or flex update? After doing such an update will I have to add settings so I can use my phone?

Basically I want to elimate all the "add an additional fee" capability from my phone. I dont want to pay extra for something I could otherwise do free by updating fixed software on my local phone.

So far I dont know if you can do ISP dialing to WAP.. the guy above said he can but didnt tell more on this...

And seeing he only has 5 posts by the looks of it? I doubt a PM to him will help..

But if that would work.. its be hella slower, I made a chart. 5 KBS on dialup internet vs 17-25 kbs on GRPS mode.

Was HELLA diff, and that in mind, I would rather pay 5$ vs trying to jury rig a free one for slower..

But a Wap tunnel or http tunnel might be better.. but I dont have much info on it.
