POP3 email is going to be only on the 4.99 T-Zones feature.
So if I go and post on aim with the website wimd.aol.com I will be charged, but if i go to wimd.aol.com/?service=tmobile I wont be charged?

    Thumbs down T-Mo Rep. said...

    Hi everyone,

I am just as confused as everyone is here!

I just got off the phone with two different T-Mobile customer service representatives and from what I was told, even with T-Zones, or accessing AIM via aol's wap site, is NOT FREE!!!

I don't know whether this has been brought up but they told me that I will have to pay for any AIM messages sent or receiced (the usual 5 cent a message).

Also, the dumbest thing I heard about this whole T-Zones thing is that it is technically free to check your Yahoo email, but it is NOT free to send any emails. It will again cost the usual 5 cent a message.

All of the above are classified by T-Mobile as SMS!!!

Maybe all of you already knew that, but it is a unpleasant surprise to me
    Rockin'

Chatting on AIM via cellphone is determined by number of characters in the message, I think.

    I've got a question...

I have a moto v525 with Reqwireless' HTML webviewer on it... I use it all the time and connect via "data services"

I pay for the $4.99 unlimited data plan with T-Mobile for this reason.

Is this stupid? I mean what is that plan for if it is free in the first place???

Okay, according to this thread wap is no longer free: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...hreadid=352615

But is that true? Or a few guys that got some bad information. I have been using wap alot and havent seen any changes in my bill. But maybe next month I will... Im sorry to ask a "is wap free" question in this particular thread, but I feel that this kind of a question should be asked in this thread If not, please remove my reply. Thank You.

Reading up to the last page on both threads seems to indicate that free wap is still working. I'll stick with $4.99 plan, though, because I don't feel confident enough to drop it, find that now possibly everything doesn't work, then reinstate it and find that nothing works like it used to. This was my experience with sprintpcs: "don't rock the boat".

I got one of those belkin 100 meter bluetooth usb adapters. Setup my laptop for dialup and it worked, so now I'm even less inclined to drop the $4.99. If it works, don't break it.

As of this bill 99 cents charges per 25k??? download!!!!! are starting to appear.

In case you guys didn’t see my other post:
I'm using the free Wap, use it to check the weather every once and a while and very light wap browsing.... Have NOT downloaded ANY ringer tones off the T-Mobile site. But have maybe downloaded 10- 25k wallpapers off of Ranvoa... in the past 5 months.

As of this bill 99 cents charges per 25k??? download!!!!! are starting to appear.... Date of first "billable" download was April 5th.

You mean you got billed by using the presumed *FREE* WAP? Is that true? I've been browsing all the time and gosh a huge bill is expecting me. tmo has been cheating customers in this sense!!! There's not a single warning that says wap is NOT FREE, and yet I can access it then I should safely assume it's free. But if it's not the case, we should sue tmo!!!!!

And what is the best use for free WAP?

Go to steamymobile.com in T-zone and find out. We're soon going to have free downloadable pictures, too.
