What is happening with TMobile retention

A few months ago when Tmobile changed from having a rather informal retention policy to giving people the same price on a new phone if they were renewing, poeple were saying this is just the first step in a new plan. There were some posts saying the new plan would be unveiled in stages with the final plan being in place by May. Well, drifting steadily into May I was wondering what people were hearing? Are we going to see anything new in terms of pricing for new phones for existing customers who renew? Im out of contract this month I think and am looking to see what will be available both in terms of phones (which is gettiing more clear at this point) and pricing. Any info would be appreciated.

Also, about 6 or 8 months ago there was a plan where customers for more than a year could get a new phone without an extension as I recall for about $35 or something. Only a couple choices in phones, but still a pretty decent deal. I am assuming that offer expired long ago but I wonder if there is anything else like that anticipated?

i spoke with tmobile earlier today. I was told that users who have been with them for a year have the same rebates on phones when they upgrade as the users who first sign up for a year with them. Its too bad tmobile dealers don't give you any store discounts since they don't get activation money.

I remember this too, it was stated that a few phases would occur over the months. And here we are in May and no news.

I called T-Mo today 5/6 and was told the as-new-customer prices are only for those who've had a $39.99 plan or higher for one year. So even though I've been with them 16 months I did not qualify since I have only 11 months on the 39.99 plan.

But Im talking about the new, and apparently secret plan to provide a better deal for retaining customers than the current deal. Since the current deal only is a certain dealers it really isnt very good. For instance, for me to get a 6600 it is $399. I have seen deals for new customers from $199 to $250.

When these changes went into effect we were told it would change a couple times. Im just trying to see if there is any info out there on the next change, which was supposedly in May. It isnt so great a deal now.

I sure hope it changes. Maybe it was just a bunch of ******** they were putting out and then again maybe we'll have to give em more time.

from what i seein, retentions is just been more INFORMED and to not negotiate better deals. They seem to be more strict now, stating things like the BEST Deal they can do is the same as for a new customer price. Its seems to be a bad thing but you can still try who knows.

Thing is it isnt as good a deal as a new customer. If I get a 6600 from TMobile I would have to pay $399. If I got it from Amazon it would be 249. g
