Hi, im really frustrated as i have been trying to build a 3.5mm stereo pop-port adaptor for the past few hours.![]()
I have got it to work but it only works in dual mono, not true stereo. I have tried two wiring configurations and both result in dual mono. They are :
1. Joining pins 11 and 13 to make the ground.
2. Joining pins 12 and 14 to make the ground.
Pins are :
11 = HSEAR N (Audio out - Ext. Audio out - left)
12 = HSEAR P (Audio out - Ext. Audio out - left)
13 = HSEAR R N (Audio out - Ext. audio out - right)
14 = HSEAR R P (Audio out - Ext. audio out - right)
N being negative, P being positive.
In both cases i have assumed that the 3.5mm male plug is setup as follows:
____ ___ __
.......||.....||...}
Gnd Right Left
Is what i am doing correct?
I have an mp3 file on the phone that plays thru only right channel then only left channel at one time to test if stereo works. I always hear exactly the same thing thru the left and right headphones at the same volume. Also tested using the radio - still dual mono.
Can someone please help me out? I will be posting pictures once it is working.![]()

Same thing happened to me. It pissed me off. It was working well at first. I got the best reception with the radio. Some of the stations that came in poorly before came in clear. When i put the cover back on it got messed up. There was no way for me to connect so it didn’t fall apart. I'm just going to have to buy one.
Like i said before, Do not try it, Buy it
Putting a stereo adapter affects the FM radio ?![]()
I actually like to try before i buy.![]()
Will try to get it working today.
when u have it all figured out, let me know your tricks cause I intend to do it as well when I get a chance!
This is stuffed. I have soldiered the pins so much that that 2 have fallen off. Why can't nokia just use 3.5mm sockets on their phones? The nokia headphones are just crap compared to my koss ones.
Yes, the headphone lead is the aerial on the original headset!Originally posted by Marcos

i use my cellphones too much, my brains are fried...
Oh, that would make sense, but i thought the 6230 could play the radio as an alarm clock? Would the headphones have to be plugged in?Originally posted by Paracaine

Does it come out of the loudspeaker? The headset would need to be plugged in...
Theres an asterix, the note says the headset must be plugged in for the ariel, but the radio will come out the speaker
Cool, thanks.Originally posted by Marcos
