Upgrade Eligibility for Higher Priced Plans

Does anyone know if higher priced plans (I'm on the $99 plan + all the extras) are eligible for an upgrade earlier than less expensive plans?

    thanks!

If you mean a phone upgrade, you should be able to upgrade one year into a two year contract with high-end plans.

On a one year contract, it will probably be the standard 10 months.

only people on plans $149.99 and higher can upgrade early. Actually those people can upgrade every 6 months with 2 year pricing s long as they stay on 2 year contracts.

That is not actually true. There may be instances where customers are given early upgraes by CS, but that is definitely NOT policy. Here is a quick run down....

Cellular Customer Agreement related to most recent equipment purchase must be expired or have two months or less remaining.

*Customer with price plan access of $39.98 or below must have two (2) months or less remaining of their contract. (Refer to Equipment Eligibility Upgrade Field in ACSS).

*Customer with price plan access of $39.99 - $74.99 must have four (4) months or less remaining on their contract. (Calculate two months back from the date in the Equipment Eligibility Date Field).

*Customer with a price plan access of $75.00 or higher must have six (6) months or less remaining on their contract. (Calculate four months back from the date in the Equipment Eligibility Date Field).

    This is the policy...

So being that I am on a $99 plan, I am eligible for a phone upgrade every 6 months, at promotional price?

yes, if you are on a 1 year deal...otherwise it would be 1.5 years from activation date....which is actually 6 months from the end of your 2 year contract if you are on a 2 year deal.

I knew I had read that some place else before.... but I was too lazy to search that "new policy."

Anyways, my search found this thread which basically says the same thing:

    Killer_Fork wrote:
These are the current upgrade offers:

10 months into a 1yr contract = promo price reguardless of Price plan cost

22 months into a 2yr contract = promo price reguardless of Price plan cost (after the rebate, then the NE2 is applied up to $100 and not to exced the cost of the phone. NE2 will not cover taxes)

8 months into a 1yr or 20 months into a 2yr = promo price if the cost of price plan is between 39.99 and 74.99 (No NE2)

6 months into a 1yr or 18 months into a 2yr = promo price if the cost of price plan is over 75.00 (No NE2)

This policy is in affect until 8/31/04
Looks like this thread's author is going to have to wait, just like the rest of us until he gets w/in 4 months of his contract term date.

And actually, I'm glad I'm wrong, in the sense that I will now have to wait till around Nov - Jan '05 to pick up the v710 to cash in on n32 ---by then the price on that unit should've dropped significantly.

BTW: Not trying to start anything, but is are you also "killer_fork?"

There is no early upgrade policy anymore in the South, not officially anyways. Anyone on a $50+ plan on a 2 year deal used to be able to upgrade as long as they had finished at least 1 year of it but that ended April 30th, don't even do that anymore.
