    Replacing Samsung's Housings

I've never taken a Samsung apart before...

But say I take apart my X426 and I want to change EVERY last piece of the phone. The bottom part of the flip, that's where all of the hardware is. Does that stuff just unclip and slide out or what? Also, how is the screen put together? Is there any parts I should be extra delicate with?

I've only removed the faceplate on my phones and haven't taken any of them apart totally yet. Haven't had to. But Samsung phones are pretty much the same so here is a link to the S300/S307 thread that Compuwiz posted a few times showing how to take it apart.

Some of the inside parts are held in place with double-sided tape and or some glue.

*waiting to see if Roasted goes for it*

I was wondering the same thing. while on the topic I seen some "faceplates" on Ebay stating that you don't need no tools required.

    ~*Check It Out*~

Has anyone seen these before? Are they just a cover that slips onto the original, or is it lies?

Well, they look like the same type as the ones on DayDeal.

    Samsung X426/7 Non-OEM Faceplates

Those still require removal of the Original using a Mini Phillips Screwdriver in order to use them.

I personally wouldn't get them. Had a Black "After Market" one for my V206 like the one on Daydeal and the Plastic for the Service Light was clear instead of white, so I could see the internal circuit board.

They do have OEM Housings for it though.

    OEM X427 Housing

Just buy it and spray paint them whatever you like and clearcoat them. Then put it all together.

Thanks Mango808. I think I'll just stick to the leather cover

    Hey FlyMan,

I thought you replaced that broken Keyboard already.

Or is that the way you always type/talk.

lol. Why should they include parts that slip/clip off. Besides, they are irreleavant to the look after you are done, because they are items you can't replace with plastic. I mean, cmon, some guy in china HANDMADE all this stuff most likely, cut him some slack for not knowing where to find adhesive foam and some cheap tin and springs. He had plastic and a knife! I think with the right stuff and some time, these are awesome housings.

Be very delicate with the lcd. I was too harsh on the folder popping it off and snapped that little strip that connects to the motherboard, cost me $130 to fix that mistake (new phone = only option). Also... SAVE EVERYTHING. With the exception of the black stickers on the faceplate that only cover where the "trim" enters the faceplate, all the other stickers have a purpose (like protecting a circuit from touching the housing directly). Also take care with the antenna. I had a broken phone to rip mine out of, but on yours it may not be so easy.
