Unfortunately, that's not something I can figure out... V400 - no event lights. So... unless someone wants to donate a V600 to me for testing purposes I can't figure that one out. Hee hee.

I don't know a way to have the outer LCD on when the flip is open, but that would eat your battery up as well... not sure why anyone would want to do that either, since the reason why you have your phone open is to look at the inner LCD... unless you're trying to impress someone with your cool custom outer LCD text.
of course we want to show off the outer LCD...we spend all this time upgrading our phones why not show off the time and effort we put on it....lol....

    dash between digits

hi, just had a e398 and am enjoying it for now.

one thing id like to edit is the phone number format. it does not have dashes!

when you say download seem using P2Kman DOES THIS MEAN the file will be moved from the phone to the pc or will it just make a copy.

was hesitant to do what you stated in your guide since am playing with a different phone and am afraid that if it in case it would MOVE the file from the phone to the pc, i MIGHT not be able to successfuly return (UPLOAD) it back.

just trying to be safe than sorry.

    thanks.

It will just make a copy, but after you have it on your PC make a backup copy before editing it and uploading back to your phone.

OK, assuming the canadian v300 is quadband or triband with 850MHz or w/e, if you were to flex or somehow ottherwise modify a tmobile v300 to be quadband or triband w/ 850 and use it in a location with Cingular Wireless towers, i.e. southern california, would 850Mhz then work w/ tmobile?

I'm in So Cal and T-Moble doesn't have any roaming agreements, so as far as I know, you're stuck with 1900. How can you flex/flash your phone to activate 850?

xlr8: I wanted to add the engineering menu, so i was checking out my mma_ucp and mma_dcp files just to see what's there and i find FEM along with AIM. Both are not supposed to be there if i understood correctly. So now my question is, do i just modify offset 44 - bits 4, 5, 7 to get the engineering menu and maybe modify offset 2B too for testmode? I just want to make sure before i do this. Thanks!

BTW, my phone is a V600 with stock Cingular flex and flashed to .45R

You might want to make a ZIp file of the backed up files (and SEEMS) and put them in a differant directory so you don't overwrite them by mistake.

well I'm pretty sure at least for now that in socal, tmobile uses network sharing w/ cingular wireless. i'm not sure if that covers a specific band or just the tower itself. when flashing/flexing your phone believes it's a quadband as the v600 is and you're using v600 firmware/flex correct? so, if the v300 has hidden 850MHz capabilities that are locked out by tmobile, then this would unlock it. and yeah. so i'm wondering, if you were to flash/flex and/or seemedit the phone (with a seemedit we probably haven't found yet, if it exists at all) to allow the 850MHz band on the v300, would you be able to use cingular's 850MHz on socal? and its tmobile? thanks.

Two Points: I'm all for finding out if the V300 has a locked 850 band, or if I can trade my 900 band for an 850 band. If you know how to do it, I'd love to know.

Secondly, Cinglular is 1900 GSM only in California. So having a dual band 850/1900 would be useless. Now AT&T is overlaying their 850 TDMA network with GSM. The only problem is that T-Mobile does not allow any roaming on that Network. The only California roaming I'm aware of that T-Mobile allows in California is up north along the Pacific Coast north of San Fransisco to the Oregon border; east in the desert area near the Arizona border, and perhaps some other abstract rural areas. The bottom line for me is that 850 is not something that I will have access to in my home market anytime soon.
