yes i would think it works on the V3 .. it should work on any phone that seem edits work on

make sure you click on file then save before you try to re upload them

I am also a noob, and have downloaded your app as well as the P2K, I have connected to my phone via USB cable and downloaded the seem to a directory on my PC. I opened up your app and made a change to the Advanced Network Menu, and saved the seem file in your app. I am not sure what the next step should be in P2K. Could you please walk me through the next step. I have a V551 phone if that would help.

Great tool! I used it to edit my wife's v400 with ease, but I was unable to use it to edit my v551...

I keep getting:

Access violation at address 00461D0C in module 'motorola-tool.exe'. Read of address 00000044.

when I try to use the menu editor. Not to mention that there is no spcolor.sch file on the v551.

I realize that you probably didn't design it for the v551, so I'll attach the relevant files from my 551 in a .zip file in case you want to work on it... <please!>

The program was designed prior to the V551's release, so it is likely not too compatible with that model. I would recommend good old fashioned hex editing for you. http://xlr8.us/hofo/

If there's no spcolor.sch file, you can download and add it to your file system and you'll have a custom color scheme that can be used. Make sure you turn the feature on in the 0032 seem.

Hey, any idea on how to get the text messaging to stop on the v551 after seem editing when you listen to a received voice mail? Not that big if a deal but a bit annoying. I find if I remove manual selection it stops but I like that on. Thanks.

There's a fix listed on xlr8's website, but it works for some people and not for others. It didn't work for me. You're welcome to try it, but don't worry if it doesn't work. I think the benefit of manual network select outweighs that stupid text message. They don't cost anything or count against your package.
