Verizon Wireless Waives Early Termination Fee Through August 31st
Great News for those customers who want to leave Verizon Wireless but thought it was tooo costly!
Verizon Wireless just announced a policy that enables customers to get out of there contracts without an early termination fee. Verizon Wireless recently changed there late fee policy to a minimum charge of $5. or 1.5% whichever is greater, on unpaid balances. If customers disagree with this new policy, they can contact Verizon Wireless and cancel there service through August 31st without incurring the usual $175. cancellation fee. This termination policy does not apply to business or government accounts that have signed a corporate agreement.
Verizon Wireless customers were notified via a bill message stating: ...Beginning with your next billing statement, late-payment charges will change from the current 1.5% of unpaid balances to $5. or 1.5% of unpaid balances, whichever is greater. No charges apply to on-time payments. If you disagree with the charge, you will not be subject to a cancellation charge if you cancel your service prior to August 31, 2002. We thank you for your prompt payment and thank you for choosing Verizon Wireless
This billing and contract information could provide leverage in discussions with prosects who are considering leaving Verizon Wireless for Nextel. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS ONLY AVAILABLE THROUGH AUGUST 31ST; make sure to advise customers to call and verify this before canceling there servicee with Verizon Wireless.
This is a great opportunity for customers to make there way over to Nextel, please make your prospects aware of this charge so that it works to your benefit!

ATT Wireless Waives Contract Cancel Fees
ATT Wireless recently announced price increases for two wireless-related service rates. They will charge $1.25 rather than .99 cents for directory assistance calls. ATT Wireless also will begin charging airtime for outgoing calls that remain unanswered for 30 seconds or more. Current ATT Wireless customers were given an opportunity to cancel service by the end of July without paying the $175. cancellation fee if they didnt want to pay the new fees.
While the offer to get out of existing contracts without penalty may have expired on July 31, there may still be some disgruntled ATT Wireless customers out there who could be searching for other carriers. Could be an opportunity to have them sigh up for Nextel Services.

Wish I could get outta my sprint contract...........
wish cingular offered free early termination.... but then again i only have a few weeks left.
Legally they are required to waive disconnection fees since they are changing the terms of the contract.
Words of wisdom
Knowledge is power. Power corrupts. Study hard. Become evil.
