Generic stuff like that serves no purpose other than wasting money on poorly made products where you could've saved that bit of money and got yourself a meal at Burger King.

I just bought a Autoslide cover for my 3390. While I haven't had it for a full day I can give you a few things on it why they arent too sturdy
1. the slide plate kinda stick up on the bottom.
2. the trigger button is made of a cheap plastic that breaks easy.
3. it is fatter then a standard face plate
4. buttons have been moved to make room for trigger.. Scroll buttons on right feel "Weird"
5. Slide plate is VERY thing, and floppy. I am sure it will snap easily.
I only paid 5.00 USD for this gem and I will let you know my how it stands up to my tough field test (sitting in my pocket, car cup holder, and being messed with) when info comes in.
Makes me with my normal clear one didn't break.......!
Well I must have been flogged with the lucky stick today.

better than the 27 dollars my brother paid for his.
see my HoFo feedback : here
maybe I wasen't clear in my post but my old face plate died...
So I bought this slide one.. Before you get on me about generic I would like to say that my generic 5.00 clear faceplate lasted me a LONG time, and held up to alot of bumps and drops...
I have had NO trouble with a generic faceplate yet.
I agree that SOME generic accessories are built quite amazing well and can hold up to moderate damage, but the general idea is that they don't last. You just have to pick and choose and guess what will last, and what won't.
i asked this before but i got no replys.... does anyone know if there exists manual slide faceplates for 3390???
I am sure that there is a manual slide somewhere on this planet, I just haven't seen them, I have only seen the manual flip and the auto slide.. Personally all the flip and slide stuff makes the phone to fat.
I've only seen manual slide faceplates for the 8260 at cellphoneshop.net
Well the "Real" Nokia faceplates... Well they just look ok.. They are really normal looking the Aftermarket ones are the ones with the most design..
I bought 2 one for me and one for my old cousin, mine lasted a week, The spring were too strong and broke one of the little tabs to make it stop, i took one spring out (still slides hard) but it doesn't fly out like when both spring were on it.
My cousins lasted a day after mine, the screen fell in and the spring got cought on something and fell out .
Both faceplates are still useable, but there just not reliable.
on a side not they impressed alot of people.
I bought an auto-slilde for my nokia 3390 it acutally lasted a couple a months for me intill i dropped the phone at school and the springs poped out and i didnt dare look for it. I always notiched that on the back they used cheap paint cause i could tell that it was peelin off and getting silver paint all over my hands
I had a manual slide faceplate for my 3360 and I didn't really like it.
Since it was silver, it was scratched about an hour after I got it as it was in my pocket.
Then, the slide was not good because it could come off easily... so now, I would prefer a faceplate without a sliding cover.
