ok, it looks like i have just added an extra "00" for each file's index. i have not tested to see if there are different indexs for .mid and for .mp3 on the telus, but for now, you could try deleting the first "00" from "tone" under the "[telus]" section, in "data.ini"... this file is located: "c:\program files\brewksy 8900\data\data.ini"

after one of those "00" is deleted, it appears as though the output from brewsky is the same as makeindex, at least for mp3 files.

    thanks for finding those differences!

Thanks for the help! Do you take paypal donations?

if it works with BitPim then it should work with Brewsky.. just make sure that BitPim is not open when you are trying to use Brewsky. 2 programs can not use the same port at the same time, and right now there's no error message that is displayed if the port is already being used. I will update this asap.

also, sure I accept paypal donations

you can make them to: chip@dietk.com

i dont think it will work. it was designed for the 8900 and I have not looked at any of the index's for the 8410, and i dont know of any of the paths for that phone either. if you provide me with a real "download_snd.txt" and inform me of any differences between the 8410 and 8900, then it might be possible that i could get it working in the future..

    I also have "animated-ring.txt", "download-img.txt", "ems-effect.txt","info.txt"
Those files were found by BitPim under "db"

When looking at the 8410, note the download-snd.txt instead of download_snd.txt
Also, yes the END button is disabled when connected to the data cable. Not sure why, but its ok

    Cable to use with Brewsky

I have seen that the VX6000 cable from Radio Shack is recommended. Is this the correct one for my 8900?
    Thanks, Richard

looking excellent bonch! in your next version could you allow for multiple pictures to be downloaded at once (allow for selecting multiple holding control or shift)? That's what used to bug me about bitpim.

    Thanks

    Mr

I just received my CDM8900 last night and by shear luck found these forums today. Please forgive this newbie if this has been discussed in a different thread; I looked through several and didn't see my question asked or answered.

At this point, I haven't purchased a data cable yet, believe I'll probably go for OEM as I'm a little fastidious using make-do equipment (afraid I'll void the warranty. Am I being foolish?)

Anyway, first let me thank you for your extraordinary accomplishment. And now, my questions is, will we be able to save-to-disk copies of our downloaded games? Will we be able to re-load them? How about copies of games other d/l and we traded for..........? <ahem>

    Thanks,
    Dennis
