Dummy ESN needed for phone swap

Hello all, I am trying to swap the handsets on two active phone numbers on my account. I was told that the only way to do this is to temporarily put one number on an ESN that is not being used, which none of the three sprint reps that I called are able to do. Does anyone have any suggestions, or unused ESN number that I could use, so that I don't have to head to the nightmarish Sprint PCS store? thanks

See if they can enter all F's in the ESN field (FFFFFFF). If that doesn't work, you'll have to go to the Sprint store.

I know I wouldnt put ESNs in auctions...i would hate to be selling a phone... and have a deadbeat put my phones ESN on their account then have them be able to sell their phone then have their account go in to bad standing...

Just beware that kind of thing can come back and bite you on the ×××. Especially if the real owner of the ESN files a complaint/police report.

Me: No

Cops: What is a ESN anyways?

Me: The serial number of a phone

Cops: How can you steal a number

Me: Well, some idiot puts it on eBay, then people try to steal that

Cops: Uhh, did you do that

Me: No, it's much more likely some CSR made a typo

Cops: Wow, phones are really wierd

No offense to police officers out there, but come on, they aren't HoFo readers generally. Yes, I know every cop that is a HoFo member will come knocking on my door shortly...

Sprint is not able to directly swap phones bewteen two active accounts?!?!? If so that is so lame!

yeah cops are still relatively dumb when it comes to anything with technology... they've gotten better (they had to to keep their jobs) but they're still quite primative to the field.
