I find it hard to believe that if you call the Little Rock VM number that you can then access a box not stored on the Little Rock VM server. Of course, there are a lot of much larger markets that probably have a bunch of different VM numbers pointing to the same server.

Yep, you are right. Most of the time, if you check your voicemail with your phone, you use your unlimited or 5000 M2M minutes if you have them on your account, or if u don't have them then it'll use your package minutes. But the fact still remains you might want to check the voicemail from a landline phone anyway. I like to record my greeting from a landline and also... one place I visit is in a "no service" area so I have only the landline option to check voicemail!

we work with the birmingham market too (i am in columbus now so its not like alabama is that far) and the only retrieval number i have been able to get out of customer service or any of the phones is the 205-616-0660.

Interesting....i thought it might be another number, but I called it and it said "Welcome to the messaging center, please enter a mailbox number or wait" so i entered my phone number and it didn't work. Hmm...well I know the 205-616-0660 wrks for Birmingham. (and yeah everyone in b'ham can use that number, but others may have older numbers programmed into the voicemail button)
BTW....i've seen your posts other places...nice to see someone else from B'ham area!!!!
