    Needing Phone with GREAT Reception..

    Hello all,
    Im a newbie here...

What I have right now is a Nokia 6800. We have 2 Nokia 3200's and a Nokia 1100. We all are using ATT. I am looking for a new phone around the 300 dollar range. What do you all think would be a good one?

    Thanks,

    ~William

Are you not happy with the reception on your Nokia? I thought Nokia was known for always having good reception.

According to their website, for 300 you can buy anything. You should check out the ATTWS forums - forums.attwireless.com to read what everyone likes and dislikes about their phone.

I like my M56, you can barley hear that little GSM "hum" and keeps a signal very good. On my moms x426 you can't hear the "hum" but it doesnt keep a signal as good as my M56.

I am a Sony Ericsson fan myself, but my wife's v600 is quite the phone and works real well (to the point of myself thinking of getting one). I have had no problems with my T616 and would buy another without question.

I have had both 6200 which has great reception and i have the v600 great reception no complaints on either, there were cases where the v600 recieved better signal and vice versa cant explain that but both are very good.

After trying many phones, the one phone that is worthy of this spot is the 6620!!

That's the same experience I've seen as well.

That's funny, I was actually gonna suggest that phone. I don't care what anyone says about Siemens or how bad their reception is on their phones. When I had that M56 for about 3 weeks, it had excellent RF performace. The hall I lived in at my university at the time I had this phone had horrible AT&T reception... but this phone never lost the signal.

However, all background noise gets returned into the earpiece If Siemens fixed this on their phones, I would probably have one right now....

The 6600 lacks GSM 850. You'll end up with inferior coverage. Wait for the 6620 - it will be out soon and is essentially the same as the 6600 except that it has GSM 850 (better coverage) and EDGE (faster data).
