flash/flex v525 and how to unlock

I am looking to flash/flex my v525 and was wondering if that will lock it ?

If so, how can I unlock it ?

WHen I bought my phone I paid special for it to be unlocked and want to keep it that way.

BTW, how can I tell if it is unlocked ?

Depends on the flex you use....

Dont use one that will lock it, then you dont have to worry about it....

When you put another sim in there it will ask for a subsidy lock code.. also in MSS it will tell you if the phone is locked or not.....

That is good to know. Would the flex TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.45R be one that will not lock it ?

Also, when you mention subsidy lock code. Is that how I would know if it is locked ?

Where in MSS would I see if it is locked ?

MSS stands for Motorola Service Software by Victor.

It's a program that you can use to do crazy things to your phone.

To see if your phone is locked, run the program and "Read Phone".
It will tell you if your phone is locked or not.

I already have MSS installed and can do a read phone but where do I see if it is locked or not ?

Select "Read Phone" in MSS from the "Main Features" tab.

If your phone is locked, below "Security code:" field, it will show you to what network your phone is locked to.

If it isn't locked, that same field will show you the "NWSCP/SSCP:" codes for your phone.
These are the unlocking codes for your phone, but you won't be needing them anymore since it is unlocked.
MSS will only show you these codes if your phone is unlocked.

Well, the best way to see if your phone is locked is to just insert a SIM card from a different provider.
