Port 110 is still open (POP3).

Is port 80 still open? I don't have my laptop on me right now, so I can't try a GPRS internet connection right now.

I am from New York City, and on Easy-Speak pre-paid account.
T-zone is working fine, but outside site is NOT working. I got directed to

"Your plan does not support this feature"

cool, so ports 25, 80, 110 are still open.

    chrisextreme-

do you know if t-mo has plans to block access to these ports if you don't have a subscription to t-zones or an internet plan?

Well I have tentative confirmation that free SMS still works, just txt'ed my sister who's on Verzion and she said she got it. I was *this* close of switching to i-wireless prepaid (which is through Cincinnati Bell which is through AT&T). They have $.10 per minute calls during Nights/Weekends and a texting plan which is is $.35 a day for 500 outgoing text messages a month (free incoming). But how I figure, as long as I get free texting from T-Mobile, my plan is at least equal to i-wireless.

    WAP ends in Chicago

Oh well...it was working fine till yesterday, and today it is forwarding me to TZones info page, asking me to purchase $4.99 unlimited plan. Hope free wap comes back.

I doubt it will...it never was suppose to be "free wap" Im pretty sure. It was just a loopwhole in the system. Aint that big of a deal, just pay the 5 dollars, hella cheaper then AT&T and Cingular.

    Yeah, you see my point?!

Why are you switching? Because the fixed a bug in the system? You will be paying alot more with Cingular and AT&T and I believe they go by data usage. But oh well, I am still happy with t-mobile.

Ok, just called a rep. According to her, free WAP was never suppose to be, and was never supported by T-Mobile (except for the T-Zone subscribers). She said that once in a great while you will be allowed to access other websites, but thats it. Something like that. Anyways, she said that next month they will be releasing picture phones and MMS, and that MMS will be totally free (?). This should be interesting, as if it is free I will defiantly look into picture phones.

WEll, losing it from my phone really, really, really, really, really, sucks. I can still access the non wap versions of hofo and yahoo on my palm. But i get redirected to my plan does not support this on my phone. let me try a wap site...yea, I can access hofo's site, so currently this makes no sense to me, wap is free if I teather, but not on my phone... Well. At least my phone serves it's purpose of being a portable internet connection, only if I teather it. Thanks t-mobile, you give us coverage the size of a pea and you can't even make up for it by offering free WAP...
Wait, maybe for prepaid users the'll switch the rates, remember the post that said t-mo was totally changing their prepaid stuff, maybe easyspeak people will get bumped to that and it will be something like $.50 for unlimited usage in a day. Though that would really, really, really suck.
Guess I won't be getting my p900 after all to use with free WAP.

Ok...this is what I have noticed

I can't access WAP or HTML via the browser built into my 6600.
However, when I use Doris or Netfront I can access wap and html just like normal. Hopefully they don't mess with the ports that are still open

Switching because Cingular/AT&T have a better coverage in upstate New York than Tmobile. I enjoyed the free wap as long as i had it, but to be honest i was only using it as long as it was free.

Tmobile has served me well (there network in lower westchester county is great....) but cingular/att is a bit better upstate.

    Plus....
i want to port over my number to cingular so i can get a v600 and v400.... for next to nothing.

i'll see what will happen in the future
