Originally posted by bob05 Ok, just called a rep. According to her, free WAP was never suppose to be, and was never supported by T-Mobile (except for the T-Zone subscribers). She said that once in a great while you will be allowed to access other websites, but thats it. Something like that. Anyways, she said that next month they will be releasing picture phones and MMS, and that MMS will be totally free (?). This should be interesting, as if it is free I will defiantly look into picture phones.

Bummer.
Springfield Missouri has no more free WAP either.
My EasySpeak phone just gives me this sad message:
"Your plan does not support this feature"
:hurt:
Oh well, at least I still get the T-Zones WAP deck and the news links they offer still works. 99% of my WAP usage was to read the news anyway.
I haven't tried GPRS via my laptop. That would be great if that were still free.
Originally posted by the bishop all I gotta say is that if I'm paying for it, I will not accept it being down AT ALL. Not once, or I'm calling up and giving an ear lashing to someone every time it goes down, even for like an instant.
If it's free, I can't complain. If I'm paying for it, I demand it to work 100% of the time since I have to pay for it 100% of the time. Fair enough methinks.
Plus, now the one thing that balanced TMo's crap reception (free wap) is gone.
Reception:
Everyone else > TMo > Kricket
at least they beat kricket.
/me looks forward to my 1 yr and moving with my phone number to the next best thing.
thats a real good attitude, does your phone work 100% of the time? you pay for that don't you? I would let them know if you are having some probs wit hthe WAP but to say that you are going to call up and yell at someone everytime it goes down, even for a split second, you must be a really calm and intelligent person. have fun in life

Honestly, maybe taking free WAP away (and losing people like this) is one of the smartest things that T-Mobile has done lately.

I agree. The whole reason I switched to Prepaid T-Mobile was for the free wap. I mean their rates are nothing special, and can actually be more expensive, but I didn't care as long as there was that free wap. Now they have no advantage that I know of over other prepaid companies, so I'm thinking of switching to another company. I think T-Mobile made a big mistake by taking free wap away, with many of their customers being upset and switching companies. :hurt: (A lot of faces can describe T-Mobile right now)

I wonder why it's still working for me. I am located in Houston also, at UH.
If you're using your non T-Mo MPx200, it's probably using straight GPRS to get to the sites, not going thru the WAP proxy service which seems to be redirecting T-Mobile phones back to a "sign up for this" page.
My SPV e100 (Orange brand Windows Mobile Smartphone) is working too.
