I think you have to find some way to unlock the phone, after that you should be able to use it with any service provider that supports that phone.

I just bought 2 Motorola V710 and had an Audiovox 8900 that I want to give to my daughter. What do I need to do to make that phone usable for Metro PCS? I know that Metro PCS uses the same phone. They (the local retail) are trying to make me buy a phone from them.![]()

i don't have verizon but i don't think they lock the phones
all phones are usually locked so that you dont use it with other service providers.
I thought you couldn't unlock phones that aren't GSM.
Why be negative and have a "Nokia" when you can have the great positivities of a "Yeskia?"
you cannot use that phone for metropcs. these are CDMA phones not GSM. CDMA phone requires you to call up for activation and do an ESN check (the numbers inside where you put the battery) to see if that phone is on their database. so to make it plain and simple. No you can't use your verizon phone on metro and/or sprint.
yea, that was what i was thinking.
