Bluetooth Headsets

i have a question and was wondering if you could help
i have a nokia 7610 and was reading an article that said that the 7610 does not have bluetooth headset profile. which to me means that it wont work with any bluetooth headsets (i can only assume)

is that true? does anyone here have a 7610 and a bluetooth headset working?

its not the biggest deal in the world to me, just a question that i have after reading the article, it also says that the nokia 6600 doesnt have the headset profile

bear in mind that the headset profile is different to the handsfree profile (which both the 7610 and the 6600 both have) its just the headset ones that they dont have

Your assumption is quite wrong. Most of the new BT headsets today(if not all) support both headset and handsfree profiles. So u shouldnt have a problem if your phone supports either of the two.

I'd have to agree. When the 3650 first came on the market there weren't many phones that had BT and there for not many BT headsets. So the ones that were out supported the phones that were out at the time, i.e. SE which support both but prefer headset profile.

I can get these to pair easily and use it for the first time, but wwhen trying to connect to the headset at another time, I get a quick "unable to connect" message from my phone

Any ideas?

does 6620 support bt handsfree and headset (refer your manual)?
if not, you're out of luck (same as I with HBH-20)

sorry, you're out of luck
6620 DO NOT SUPPORT bt headset
that means...HBH 60 is INCOMPATIBLE

Thanks for the reply, but given the Sony hbh-60 supports handsfree, it should work.

As I said previously, I can pair them and use the functions of each properly once paired, but when I leave that session, I cannot reconnect to the headset.

Maybe, the Nokia is using a newer version of this profile and it is not backwards compatible.

I guess this will be my excuse to get the new Nokia HS-4W headset.

I use my HS810 (Motorola) BT headset with my Nokia 6620. Works very well.

what do you mean, when you leave the session that u can not reconnect back??

When I first paired the headset and phone, it works perfectly. I can send the call back and forth between handset and headset as well have a call ring on bothe handset and headset.

However, once I disconnect the bluetooth, I am not able to reconnect again, unless I create a new pairing profile with the phone and headset.

On your phone have set your headset as "authorized" ? That will help keep from pairing the devices every time. (it should)
