Folks - been searching and searching...hope you can help!
I am trying to use my P900 via IR to connect my PC to the internet using GPRS not through regular dial up.
I have followed all setup instructions: SE IR modem as COM1; DUN wizard setup to create a GPRS icon (*99***3#)...
Every time it tries to connect, it says that there is a hardware issue with the modem...and it does not connect. When I type in *99# on the phone it just gives me a command error on the phone.
Do I need to use the serial cable? will the usb cable work as well?
Any suggestions?

thought so...
do you use the IR or a cable? What COM port is your SE IR modem attached to?
I will try to delete and reinstall...any other suggestions?
finally got it to work...here's what I did..
unwound all of the changes I made: deleted the modem I added with the SE P900 modem driver (that attached to a COM port); deleted the standard IR modem entries; deleted the automatic DUN entry created using the wizard
then, turned on IR (modem, no PC Connect) and pointed it at the PC. PC recognized it as an standard IR modem and recreated the modem entry
Then I manually created a new DUN entry (NOT THROUGH THE WIZARD) using the standard IR modem as the modem and the dial up number of *99#
clicked, worked! much happiness!

good luck to the next guy...hope this helps.
You left off the last "s" which is usually for stupid, but in this case, I'll use it for "Stickied".Originally posted by pdaphonesrule
