my phone dosent play mp3 it plays wav so i cut the song down 20scc and the file is way to big to put on my phone but i have a song that i got off line and it is 37scc long and it is a lot smaller the thew 1 i made. is thyere a way to make it smaller in file space with out converting it mp3 thx

You're going to need to adjust two things; the sample rate and the sample format. Hope you have a little patience for this because there's some mathmatics involved.

First, on your project, you'll want to adjust your sample format from 32 or 24-bit to 16, however when you change your sample rate, it'll change the speed of the audio. For example, if you're working with a 22.05KHz file, you'll want to adjust that down to let's say 8KHz (to reduce the file size); that'll be a 175% reduction in the sampling rate which you'll need to adjust back up. Experiment and adjust a little with the settings to find your optimal audio quality and file size settings. I'm still suggesting you use Audacity to do this where you can directly export your .WAV file from once you're done.

how wold i go about changing thouse 2 thing o0o and i am useing audacity

Newbie to the 10th successful with his first ringtone creation and data transfer to v551!!! Now my son is going bonkers because I'm one up on him technology-wise. Can the MPT software be used on the V220 (his phone) with the right USB cable? Also, is the data and ringtone transfer similar? Thanks you guys for leading me in the right direction...Ninetoez....U Da MAN !!! Guide works like a charm!!!

I used Lame Brain since I have a Mac and it seemed to work perfect! I have a 25 second ringtone, and its only 48 KB!!!! Great work man! One question though should the encoding method be CBR or ABR? I think I used ABR but it seemed to work thanks.
