    Question Slider or Audiovox CDM8900

    Hi All,
I need a little opinion from you guys .
I am about to get a phone in a day or two , i have decided on getting one of these two , either the slider or the Audiovox CDM8900 .

Any pros and cons for the slider ? Or any suggestions or warnings that i should consider before getting the slider ?

Howz the RF and Battery Life ? And your overall experience with the slider ?

I look forward to hear your opinion before i get it.

    TIA

I have a Slider, my wife has the CDM8900.

    I love my slider:
Good: It's small, sleek, has a GREAT speakerphone, my battery has lasted over 3 days with still a good charge, it has good range, it supports MP3s (modified) and MIDI ringtones.

Bad: I used an external antenna and had to have my phone replaced. It's a digital only phone. The screen is small and unprotected.

CDM8900. My wife has only has it for 1 week, so I have limited experience with it.
Good: Large screen, 640x480 res camera w/ shutter control, large menus, buttons are easier to use, you can DL the pic's to your computer for free w/ a cable (Slider and CDM8900 can use same cable), battery seems to be good, it's a Tri-Mode (analog and digital), it works great w/ an external antenna, it has an outside display.

Bad: Speakerphone is not very loud and distorts when turned up. If you want to SEND the pictures to another phone, it's expensive (w/ Verizonbut anyway.. but you can still DL to your computer for free). I like the phone a lot though. It's only slightly bigger than the Slider (actually, it's a tad thinner).

I am still glad I have my slider. It's a matter of opinion. I'll admit, it'd be nice to be able to take a bunch of pictures with just a push of a button.

Hope that helped. Again, I've hardly used the CDM8900. I only told you what I've noticed.

Here are some good and Bads on the slider

Whats Hot: Able to use MIDI or MP3 ringers, small compact, LOTS OF AFTER MARKET STUFF!, downloadable wallpapaers, good battery, get LOTS of compliments on it, large, clear screen, slide meconism is the same science the day I bought the phone(Even with the after market houseing. I used the stock slideing pannel) and much more

Whats Not: It dosen't have a camera, or optional camera attachment, you can't delete the suck fest ringers it comes with.

Do notr buy the Kyocera Slider. It's incredibly cute, has reasonably good reception (and very good sound quality), and good battery life. Unlike the LGVX4400 which I had before it (which was built like a tank), my two month old Slider already feels like it's falling apart. The slide has gotten loose and flimsy. The screen is awful compared to an LG's screen. The interface is ugly. The headset jack cover will rip off if you you use it. Everything about this phone just feels second rate. Also consider that you have to go through Radio Shack, etc. Verizon corporate pulled it due to it's problems. If you want a good phone, get an LG - not a Kyocera.

The slider doesn't have analog whereas the Audiovox 8900 is a Tri-mode phone. The 8900 also has a camera too.

The slider's speakerphone is much louder than the 8900's though.

    How about the Audiovox 9900?
