E398 Skin SWAPPING Tutorial! (V3 maybe)

I guess the old thread is gone after the last few days of Technical Difficulties. Anyways, here again is my tutorial for swapping skins.

Again I'm not certain this will work on T-Mobile Europe branded phones. Please try everything at your own risk. This one is updated to Oct. 13, 2004. Remember files are CASE SENSITIVE.

Questions and comments welcome here, but only AFTER you read the tutorial.

If anyone knows of, or can find the programmer(s) of P2kman, it'd be great to ask for a version that can make directories (folders); so we won't have to trick our phones (swapping) about our skin files.

    Again thanks Q-ball for hosting.

    Size of file = 1,114.7KB

Oh and here's a partying shot: I'm using Scarlet skin. I like it better than Silver skin (which both worked flawlessly).

I know you can't tell the color much, but the letters at the bottom (soft keys) look to be a different font, and they are centered unlike the Moto skin. Also I noticed when you adjust the volume we have a new volume bar (on left oppossed to Moto using the right). Finally, the analogue clock has a square outline to it, which I don't care for.

Great guide, EddieBear! Too bad I have no icons on my European T-Mobile-E398 when I use the new skins. Maybe completely new skins with a new icon-set will work.

    Take out your Trans-Flash?
When Windows prompts you for drivers use the one located in the P2kman\drv\ ?
Are you using the correct cable? Some cable's don't work.
Have you tried restarting? Helps me when it doesn't connect.

    I'm all out of options.

Neon skin is supposed to have only: Neon.ski, Neon.dat, & Neon1.dat

When SWAPPING skins with more than 3 files, you just continue the order- Neon2.dat, Neon3.dat, etc.
