got it already! did come with a return envelope for the old. might just kep old one for a while or until they contact me to send back (will likely start to txt message me to send it back - ha).Originally posted by etard
sure enough - I called and they confirmed I had a covered battery. Sending me out a new one with a free return envelope for the old one (right-o). BTW, when I asked what the issue was, she explained that some of the orginal batteries were 'counterfits so they were just replacing them'. Odd. She said it real fast like, so I did not question it, but that is an odd explanation.
Lucky you. No sign of mine yet...Originally posted by etard

Im pissed.
I called, got it in 2 days..... WRONG ××××ing battery... PLUS they use A HUGE BIG ××× BAG. Like one of them BIG brown bags. Great, Now I gotta call and ×××××. THEN, since I didn't get my battery in time, my ××××ing phone got fried when trying to charage when It came in....![]()
^^
You're suppose to get your battery within 2-10 days so you got it right on time, maybe even earlier since I'm guessing most people got it on the 10th day (I've been waiting 4 days so far)
Also I really don't see a problem with a big bag.
FInally how did your phone fry?? They siad it themselves that the recall was optional (in other words not that important) and cases of harm from overheating were very rare. I doubt your phone got fried (suddenly after the whole recall thing comes into affect and not before) cause your battery came in two days instead of the next day -_-
I got it the next day. I plugged my phone into charge and BOOM flashed and then wouldn't turn on since then.. They said they had a "slip-up" in the system and it sent out wrong batterys.

So I called to get my phone replaced. At first, Called and they were going to ship me out a new battery. I got transfered to tech support and then I talked 2 people. Very nice and got my issue done quickly. The guy told me that they will fix the mix up, called DHL to come pick it up, and it was there the next day. He told me to put all my stuff. Phone 2 batterys and my charger. They will be sent out less than a week. They shipping service to me is REALLY quick.
Anyone else get an odd battery?
Mine came today. It's black, with Kyocera silver tape stuff over it and it's got the battery terminals on the bottom.
Nothing at all like the battery on my slider. Do I install it somehow in the back casing or did I get the wrng battery?
this one reads TXBAT10009
the old one was TXBAT10035
Halp! Thanks.
Well, after almost a month, there's no sign of my battery - so I got around to phoning and checking. The customer service rep recreated my case, as his records showed the battery had been shipped the day after my initial call.Originally posted by gweilo8888
OK, I just called, and sure enough this battery IS being recalled in the States. They didn't once ask for the date code, only for the CV-number on the battery. I was told a replacement battery will arrive in three to ten days, and was told the reason for the recall is that some of the batteries are believed to be counterfit, and not up to Kyocera's standards.
I wasn't told anything about shipping the faulty battery back, and was told that the reported incidence of damage or injury caused by the batteries is "very, very low - a fraction of a percent". I specifically asked if Kyocera was recommending customers not to use the battery while waiting for the replacement, and was told that was "at the customer's discretion".
So - call in guys, and get your batteries checked. It could be a safety issue, but at the very least you'll be getting a fresh, new battery free of charge.
He also told me that the 10 business days estimate is for shipping by regular mail, but that Virgin Mobile customers are being shipped for overnight delivery by UPS and should arrive within five business days at most. There are no tracking numbers for the UPS deliveries though, so no way to know where my battery went (I guess there's a UPS delivery guy out there with a new battery for his phone!)...
You have a Slider, but received the battery used in the Rave, etc. Call Kyocera and get them to correct the error...Originally posted by Spax
