Hi, I was wondering if there were any stores in Vancouver selling or planning on selling the v.60g. I heard that the SimPRO store in Richmond (besides Parker Place) is planning to carry it, but it'll cost over $1000!!! The Fido store at Parker Place might carry it as well...I heard that they are planning to sell it for $950. Can anyone confirm? Does anyone know of any other places that are planning to carry this phone? Preferably for a lower price??

telus will have the phone soon......i saw the demo already.....
i asked the sales rep, they said retail price is $850, and will be cheaper if signed on a contract....
No, Telus will not have the V60G because it has a CDMA network not GSM. The V60G is for GSM. Telus's V60 is the V60C which is a trimode CDMA model.
oops sorry....my bad
Hmm...so no one knows if there are any places carrying the v.60g in Vancouver besides Parker Place and SimPRO?

The prices above are certainly over-priced. You can get the V66 from Fido for $650 CAD before taxes with activations. $550 USD for V66 is about $850 CAD (using a 1.55 exchange rate).
Yeah, I know...but perhaps that is only for the v66? Cuz Fido will be getting the v66 soon, and the other places will not be able to put crazy markups on that phone anymore. But nobody is carrying the v60g... >.<Originally posted by Bimmer

Will the v60g drop in price anytime soon?
First of all, there are always trade offs between waiting for the price to get lower and buying it now. One of the reasons why phone prices become lower is because there are newer toys. Also, it also has to do with the product life cycle. By the time the price of the V60g is lowered, you will end up getting an older toy. It is not necessarily old in an absolute sense but rather in a relative sense. If you always want the newest toy on the street, you need to pay the price.
However, another point that I should note is that Fido dones't usually drop the prices of their handset especailly the more expensive or better ones. Look at the prices for the Ericsson T28, Nokia 8890 and Nokia 6190, their prices either remained the same or rose before they discountinue them (8890 and 6190 are discontinued). If you plan to get a new toy from Fido, chances are that prices won't drop. In otehr words, get it as soon as possible.
Argh...you're right...Originally posted by Bimmer

So tempting!!
Here in the NYC area, I have seen the silver V60's but no V60g. Will this model have the color screen that I currently have on my Timeport 8767?
Thanks
Mike
the screen should be like the V60c offered by verizon.
Hey guys...I heard that there was a software problem with the v.60g? Anybody know anything about this?
