    Ease of switching phones

One of the things I love about GSM phones is that switching from one to another is as simple as swapping a smart card... very easy.

My CDMA phone switches have involved calls to customer service, waiting on hold, and finally waiting for activation to kick in. However, I noticed that the Telus website now offers the opportunity to activate your phone online. If anyone has tried this, I would appreciate the feedback.

I currently have the Samsung 8580, but am seriously considering buying the Sanyo 6000. I would like to keep the Samsung to use on the occasions when analog would be needed (ie: road trip, camping, etc.) Does anyone have any idea how easy it would be to switch back and forth between phones???

    Thanks for your help.

You have to call customer service every time. Activation online is only for new activations (new account, new phone number). Also, I believe GSM sim cards store your phonebook right? There's nothing like that in CDMA unless you have computer sync technology.

Hey... you know what... it would be cool if they started making phones with removable flash media phone books.
