When Will Cingular Reduce Price on 6230?

Does anyone have any information on when Cingular might reduce the price of the 6230? I wonder if I should wait to buy one or just go ahead now.

    Thanks.

HOw much cheaper do you want it?

Aren't there offers online/amazon? From $200-150 all the way to some unders $100?

Now, can us as users outof a contract take advantage of those offers, I am not sure...

I like the phone but it seems it would be best to buy it a bricks and mortar and TESTing it there when you received it (or making sure that the manufacturing date is 112004)

    Sadly I left palm; user since Robotics Palm Pilot; left att (glad of that though);
THE USA is just not GSM/UNLOCKED phone friendly (sorry, never tried T-Mobile).
I await a flagship WebOS phone... in the meanwhile...

I was about 2 seconds away from posting the exact same thread, thanks for doing it for me tango!

And hell no the 6230 aint cheap now, $150 is the lowest Cingular wants for it, and thats with a ×××× 2 year contract and having to wait on a stupid rebate to come back (I still havent seen the money from my V400 I bought two months ago).

Before we get into a "hey thats expensive/no its not" shouting match here, lets just say that I just want to know when the 6230 will drop down below $100, base price.

70 from amazon after rebate... some other sites have it free after rebate, see if you want to risk it or not.

A while ago someone posted a rumour that Cingular was soon going to offer some deals on phones for the holidays. Something like an extra $50 off phones. I have no idea if that is actually going to happen, but it might be worth it to hold off on a new phone purchase for a bit longer. I'm pretty much ready to swith to Cingular but I'm waiting to see if these new prices come in soon.

Not to get into a pissing match, but how cheap do you want the ×××× phone? It's the size of the RAZR, has more features, a better camera, is an MP3 player, and takes MMC cards for expansion, and you're calling it expensive at $200?! Price out other phones with the same feature set.

That said, I sure wouldn't mind if they sold it for less!

I don't think that Amazon and other online dealers do upgrades, so you'd have to get it from Cingular for $218 - $50MIR.

If I understood correctly, rumor has it that the price will drop by $50 (or, should I say, another $50) tomorrow? That's cool.

Actually, no. The guy who originally told us about this over a week ago neglected to tell us that it was for one day only (today), and apparently it was a secret thing (not publicized). In the following thread: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...hreadid=518533
he tells us it was for one day only. So basically he knew it was coming up and then sat on the most important part of the info. Why bother telling us something if we can't take advantage of it? I'm sure he knew the date in advance but he kept that a secret. Thanks for nothing, Al...

Amazon has some good deals, so maybe you should check there.

Is it likely that the non-contract price will drop soon, too?

I'm looking at picking one up soon, I figure that the price will drop the day after I get it.
