    Possible to port wireless number to landline?

    Anyone know if its possible to port a number from cingular to a landline?

    Is it technically possible? yes.

    Are the wireless carriers legally obligated to port your cell number to a landline provider? no.

    It still bugs me that the FCC didn't maintain a level playing field on this issue. What's good for the goose should be good for the gander.

    My suggestion is to at least ask if they'll do it. While there is no legal obligation to do so, it doesn't mean that they can't or won't do it. Worst thing that can happen is they tell you no.
