the monthly fee is the same, you just need a new card\phone...

And I can tell you the ev-do is *noticibly* faster then 1xrtt. you will feel the difference AND measure it if you choose.

considering it's the successor to the 8000.....that's not out.

    I guess it will be mid-late 2005...

Do we know how much Verizon will charge for EVDO? I heard it was about around 80 dollers a month is this true thats ALOT of money and theeir would be no way in hell i would pay that much.. I mean ×××× 39.99 +taxes +price of EVDO+TEC + Text and other goddies most ppl have. Fast is good but if its to much thats also why i have Cingular their internet is fine or me for the price of 7.99 lol..

I have no idea what you're basing your statement on, but LG handsets tend to be of very good quality ---far superior to Motorola, and other brands.

Looking at the picture, the hinge area looks enormus. Is this thing going to have motorized flip or something?

i thought your NE2 expires after a certain number of months? i thought i read it somewhere here on the forums sometime. i may be wrong.

also, i've seen OBEX so many times, but I have no idea what that refers to. Can someone clarify?

From looking at the FCC testing pictures it doesn't look like it has an internal camera. I personly don't see the worth of getting a EV-DO phone until you have a camera on the inside and out or a swivel cam for the reason of Video Conferencing.

It's likely we won't see the 8100 until Fall '05.

As for EVDO, I was really excited about the feature because I access the internet on my handset frequently. However, here's my thoughts after using the 8000 for about one month now:

The video clips are cool. However, the only time I ever access them is to show off the phone. I don't use the feature myself.

I don't see any noticeably faster speed accessing the internet on the handset, as compared to 1xrtt.

I love the picture quality, vibrant two screens and speakerphone on the 8000. I dislike the size. I really liked my 7000, I find the 8000 slightly better because of the above mentioned enhanceemts.

    It's the 3D side speakers.
