No, if Verizon wants to really mess with all of us, they'd let one of the hacking crew win the pot. And then release the new firmware with OBEX the day after.
Or, even better, release semi-functional OBEX that lets you do some but not all of the things required for the pot in an attempt to disuade people from using the "real" patch.
See, the problem is that Verizon is following the revenue-maximization system, charging each individual person as much as they can bear. The problem is that nobody likes being revenue-maximized upon.
Who is that that forced you to go out and buy the crippled V710 before you knew of its limitations?
Who is that that is forcing you to pay VZW every month for the cippled BT phone?
The problem is not that VZW crippled the phone. VZW is not STEALING money away from you. You created this problem, you got into a long term contract knowing you couldn't get out of it if you wanted to, you wanted to be the first kid on the block to get the v710 so you ran out and bought it with out looking first. And now you want to pretend to be a vicitim and point fingers at VZW to fix a problem YOU created.
VZW listens very closely to its customers. The public wanted BT, so it gave them the only version of BT it could @ the time, one that doesn't infringe upon the copyrights and agreements it already has in place with GIN. You need to accept the cosequences of your own actions. You can stand up and do something about it or shut up and do nothing.
And I don't mean standing up and forcing VZW to fix your problem. Fix it yourself.... get another phone, change service providers what ever.
