this is great. i just changed the proxy in Opera and it works great with $4.99 t-zones.
a couple of questions..
1. i can't seem to get to the yahoo's finance page to view my portfolio. it says something about my browser does not accept cookies when in fact my opera's settings have accetp cookies = always
2. i also put enable proxy in the internet seeting. would it cause any problems for other things?
I imagine you are trying to reach a 'secure' page, and I don't think you can access the port that is required for those pages using the proxy. Port 8080 is an alternate for port 80 (http only, not https)
you can view https and http pages thru 8080 .. then again, if that page supports wap.. your page will be displayed as wap... just like www.yahoo.com ... its all wierd.

I use a bouncer off my home machine for IRC, of course im doing it off my ppc to phone and not off the phone directly. If the app on the phone lets you choose a port number, you can do it this way also. I bounce off port 143 then to get on a server.

I don't think it's the wap page - you just get the yahoo's page designed for mobile devices. The user agent of your browser designates to the server which page yahoo will send you. If Opera could be configured to allow user agent changes, then you could indeed view pages intended for PCs.
This is not working for my new HP Ipaq H6315 which I purchased last night. I DID FINALLY get it to ATTEMPT to connect, by rerouting the proxy as shown here through the connection manager, but when I attempt to go to ANY page, I get "YOUR PLAN DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS FEATURE" and a link to go "HOME" that attempts to get a T-Mobile page but only reroutes back to this error page. Basically, when I pulled it out of the box, it had ZERO connectivity when connecting through GPRS, except for Y Messenger and AOL Instant Messenger, now Ive got it going SOMEWHERE but "somewhere" (remote server/router whatever) is stopping me from going forward.
It would seem that without the 19.99 plan, at least the REAL PPC Phones will not work correctly. The lady at TM said I have to login to the website and "register" 72 hours after activation in order for T-Zones to work, but I highly doubt this to be the problem.

Thanks, Ill stay on top of it and provide an update. If it keeps not working ill have to figure out whats going on.

get the 4.99 at the t-zones page at your phone, changes take effect immediatley if you do it this way.

With the P900 using Opera, when ever I access a site that offer both wap and html pages, it will prompt me which one I one to use. For example www.yahoo.com or www.esato.com

That's what I ended up doing.
I had originally called CS to have it added. They said 24-72 hours, .... 4 days later, I was still getting the non-tzones page on the phone, so I clicked the "Subscribe" link and it worked immediately.
