I had originally called CS to have it added. They said 24-72 hours, .... 4 days later, I was still getting the non-tzones page on the phone, so I clicked the "Subscribe" link and it worked immediately.
Its a Pocket PC 2003 Windows Mobile unit, I dont have a T-Zones page or a Subscribe link. At least I dont see anything except for the default T-Mobile cached home page.

Try wap.myvoicestream.com on your browser, that should take you to main menu page of T-zone.

Yea, something's seriously jacked here. I tried that, and it tried to parse through "wsp://wipcore.tmobile.com/login" and says PLEASE WAIT, then immediately goes back to YOUR PLAN DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS FEATURE.
Thank you so much. This is fantastic. For the past year I've been relying on regular web access on my 3650, and singing T-Mobile's high praises to anyone who'd listen. Then, suddenly, nothing. Now Opera is working again. Thank God.
I was able to use Opera (smartphone version) to access CNN.COM using the setting below
Setting on the phone (not the opera)
PROXY CONNECTIONS:
Description:T-Mobile
Connects From: The Internet
Connects To: WAP Network
Proxy (nameort): 216.155.165.50:8080
Type: HTTP
User name:
Password:
But I am not sure this is going to count as part of my $4.99 t-zone or additional charge will occur.
Can someone help me set up a PDA (iPaq 2215) to connect to the internet thru bluetooth and a T610 from T-Mobile. I have the $5 t-zones service and I can connect to it from the phone. I just can't figure out how to make the PDA dial thru it.
Many Thanks,
ZD

Just set turn the proxy to 'on' and use the following http ip and port:
216.155.165.50 port 8080.
Don't know how long this will last, but there you go.

That is called tethering and you should be paying for the $19.99 plan.
Don't be cheap. If you use the service pay for the service!
Paying for the service? Yeah, you just call T-Mobile and ask them to replace your t-zones plan with a $19.99/mo Internet plan.
Seriously, with all of the changes that T-Mobile has made to the t-zones plans in the past few weeks, what works for one person in one region doesn't mean it'll work in another region.
Not saying it can't be done, just that you're better off experimenting yourself to see what works.
If you need generic help on how to dial from the PDA, you might want to check the PocketPC forum.
my feeling is that you can configure IE on your laptop to use the same proxy server on port 8080 to browse web pages as before... Can someone post results with ie on a laptop using this proxy?
That's what I did after reading these long port 80 threads. I have a toshiba laptop, belkin usb bluetooth adapter, SE-T610, and $4.99 T-Zones.
XP SP2 messed up the belkin software so I reinstalled it and then saw how xp is now taking over software handling of the bluetooth connection like it does the wifi. I re-paired, connected, no internet, so I came to HOFO, read the deal, put the proxy ip and port, and wha la, it worked!
With WIFI at work/home, and Hand/RSS in between, I don't NEED a tethered bluetooth laptop connection, but it was fun to see if it would work.
dslreports.com for tethered bluetooth gprs gave:
34 kbps down, 9 kpbs up
Compare that with my dsl:
1265 kbps down, 321 kbps up
I would never pay $19/month for 34 kbps. Even reading news on the T610 itself takes some patience as the text news pages load slowly and only have a couple screens of text requiring multiple <more> presses to read an entire article. So basically I don't use my $4.99 T-Zones for anything, but I figure, what the heck, it's only 5 bucks and I might need a movie listing or weather forecast some time.
What has taken it's place for "waiting in line" quick reading is Hand/RSS on my tungsten C. I have so many sites plugged in I never get to read all of them, and it takes less than a minute for the program to update via wifi before I leave the house.
The one time where tethered surfing comes in handy is in a waiting room at the hospital while a family member is in surgery. Last time I had a treo 300 cabled to my laptop and both plugged in to the wall. When the nurse called for me I felt like a buffoon trying to gather all my devices. That's when I decided next time will be different. Will have a smaller laptop with longer lasting battery (like a fujitsu lifebook S6231) and a bluetooth phone (in holster on belt) so when nurse calls all I'll have to do is close the laptop.
That's a big speed difference. Even verizon's cdma picks up faster than that. Ah well...what can you expect when data/multimedia is the least of the U.S.'s general population's concern...they just want a free phone.

I am able to tether my n6600 with my home desktop thru BT with my 44.99 t-zone plan. just like what the thread say...
all i did was on the connection setting of your browser..on the proxy setting for IP address type in 216.155.165.50 port 8080. it worked with IE or mozilla firefox.
but it won't work with HTTPs: only http.
I am not able to use my n600 3rd party browser though like the Opera or Netfront.
.
Thank you guys for all the info.
