Anyway to use this on a Motorola phone? I'm beginning to think I made a mistake when I purchased my v600! :/ I mean, both Opera and Doris works with Nokia but NOT any Motorola phone!

Many Thanks,

Getting the $19.99 plan is the WRONG
answer from a cost perspective and not
necessary. I "tether" my Dell X50 via
Bluetooth to my Nokia 3650
Steps in general are;
1. In the PPC (your 2250) use the the
BLuetooth Manager Wizard to set up
a "Dial Up Networking" Icon in the
Bluetooth "My Shortcuts" page. You
do that by selecting "Connect to Internet via phone" wizard option.
2. Enable bluetooth and "Pair" your
phone and the PDA.
3. Define a GPRS connection to your
phone that includes dialing needing to dial *99# when promted for a telephone number (This will connect you to T-Mobile's GPRS network/internet.
4. Set up Proxy Server settings:
Under Start>Settings>Connections> Connections, there will be a list of
"Bluetooth Settings" . Select "Edit my
Proxy Server". Check both blocks and
fill in the IP address "216.155.165.50"
in the Proxy Server: Box.; Select Advanced... button. Under "HTTP",
set port to "8080" and make sure IP
address above is filled in the "Server"
column.
Once the above is working, to start using it:
1. Soft Reset to PDA always seems to
help for me.
2. Click on Bluetooth Icon at the bottom of main screen and select "Turn On" in the Bluetooth General page.
2. Enable to Bluetooth communications option in your phone. (Phone and PDA should already be "paired"
3. Open IE and automatic dialing of
*99# to T-Mobile should begin via your BLuetooth link to your phone.
4. Once connected your home page
should load in IE.
5. At the end of your session, go to
Bluetooth Manager Icon and select "Turn Bluetooth Off" to conserve your
PDA's battery. Also on your phone do
the same to preserve it's battery as well.

What I looked for with my Nokia phone
was the use of SERIES 60 operating system. That is the system that Opera and Doris browsers operate under.
Originally posted by sledgeweb Does anyone know if this can be set up to work with a Motorola SmartPhone (mpx220) on 4.99 T-Zones?
Do I need to install a different browser? Or can I use IE? I can't get this to work. My email works, but no internet.
I use Bluetooth to talk to my Dell X50, but you can input Proxy Server information for your connection in:
SETTINGS > CONNECTIONS > CONNECTIONS - Locate "Edit my proxy server" and select it.
Input "216.155.165.50" in the Proxy Server: box. Select "Advanced" and change Port setting for HTTP from
"80" to "8080". Select Save/exit back
to the main menu.
I'm not familiar with MS implementation of your Smart Phone, but you probably
need to dial "*99#" to connect to T-Mobile's GPRS network and open a
digital path to the Internet (via the Proxy defined above".
(The *99# is what I dial when "tethered" to my Nokia 3650 phone from either my Dell X50 or my Notebook.) Good Luck.
If you want to set up proxy settings log into your account at www.t-mobile.com, then do the following:
1) under "my account" click on the link "My phone"
2) click on the link "show all devices"
3) click on the link "T-Mobile Pocket PC 2003 Phone Edition"
4) under "T-Mobile Pocket PC 2003 Phone Edition Features" click on the link "Tips and Tricks"
5) hit "Ctrl+f" and enter "Creating GPRS Connection:"
6) this will give you the information you need on how to put in for proxy settings on pocket explorer, this may not work for those without the appropriate data features for those ipaqs, ppc pe, and those tethering which in my opinion it shouldn't. I don't know what the settings look like on the smart phones but hopefully it's close enough for those who have the unlimited internet.
Netfront browser for the nokia series 60 phones:
1) launch netfront
2) click on "options" and then click on "settings"
3) go to the "connections" tab
4) go to "Enable Proxy" select "yes"
5) go to "Proxy host" and enter "getmorespeed.voicestream.com"
6) go to "HTTP Proxy port" and "HTTPS Proxy port" and set it to "8080"
7) don't use the " on the input information
Please call 1-800-937-8997 on a different phone so we can help you...
