I used to use Opera on my old Nokia 6600 and S-E P900, but when the free internet stopped, I just didn't bother to add T-Zones.
I recently got a S-E K700i and got the Wap, Internet, and Picture Messaging set-up from the S-E web-site. I was suprised when I was able to access Howardfourms via WAP, Access http web pages, and get and send e-mail. This is without T-Zones. The web pages are not really too workable due to the screen size, but I would expect that the Opera browser would work fine again. I have not changed any ports, etc from the settings S-E sent to the phone.
Agile and IM+ for the most part require use of the specific IM client's ports. AIM is the exception and can be used on pretty much any port you have open.
Originally posted by floepie I got it! My Opera browser is now working just as it has before over port 8080 and T-Mobile's proxy.
Just set turn the proxy to 'on' and use the following http ip and port:
216.155.165.50 port 8080.
Don't know how long this will last, but there you go.
Happy surfing!
Hey, I just noticed that the OTA t-mobile sent me to configure t-zones uses port 8080. I always thought it was port 9201. Basically, my point is that the proxy settings mentioned above match the settings t-mo sent me for t-zones. Yet, when I don't use the proxy settings above in opera, I can't access webpages that I can when I am using the proxy. Can someone enlighten me?
I mention this in another post in the smartphone forum, but for whatever reason, the smartphones do not tolerate .050 as the last octet in the IP. You must enter it as .50. This shouldn't really matter, but there you go.

Ne one got it to work on a motorola e680i cause im having problems with the setting i went and did the OTA from t-mobile but i keep getting only t-zone (wap) i want to get it in html but it also ask me to sign up for t-zone at $5.99. is there ne other way like using it as csd via dial up from nocharge.com. Also can someone tell me what the APN are and stuff thx
I just switched to Tmobile with the SDA and have the $5.99 Tzones plan. I installed opera and right away was able to browse web sites. There were no options for proxies in it and I didn't seem to need them. So what am I missing here? What's the difference between the $19.95 plan and the Tzones plan? My phone seems to get to everything just fine as is. Could someone clue me in here?
i have looked and cant find it anywhere. where can i go on my cell phone if i have t-zones like what are the sites? i know google.com/glm but thats all

previously T-Zones did not allow any open ports as it restricted you to which ports you could use, my guess is that Opera automatically checks for the proxy when you first launch it (the config process). Are you able to pull up everything with the standard IE browser on the phone?
I spoke too soon. Now all of a sudden I can't make any connections at all. No Internet access, no 3rd party apps are making their connections (weather, etc.). I have no idea what is going on. But it seems to check my email ok.
The opera that I installed on my phone doesn't have an option for proxies or anything of the sort. Did I just install the wrong version?
