Need Some Help finding info for lg 4500

Hi, I cant seem to find any info on removing the VERIZON WIRELESS name off my phone, if i can do it at all.............and also if there is a way to change formats from mp3 to mid so i can hear it on my phone........i ggget the mp3 file on my phone but no sound............thnx gguys and gals

you obvisouly did not do any searching and reading on this board

rename your MP3's so the extension is mid not mp3

example.mp3 becomes example.mid

then load to your phone

to remove the verizon name/banner you have to replace the "eri' file with a special custom replacement


NO you cannot just delete it..

lots of people on this board will ignore questions that have been answered hundreds of times

thnx 3dmac, i got it to work.............and the MOPEDWHIZ, i am sorry you feel that way, I did do searches, honestly. I just dont have the length of time that I would like to have for searching, maybe my search text was not acurate enough, I have 2 kids here (not making excuses) that I need to take care of, I only get like 30 minutes on the comp, when i get on it. I was just wondering if someone would be so kind to help me out, trust me, i was not being lazy....................sorry if i offended you or upset you in any way.............have a good day

I have 2 questions for the VX4500 that a VZW salesman was unable to answer.

1.) Can the outside LCD display background and font color be changed?

2.) Is the reception worse than the LG camphones (VX6100 and VX7000)?

1. The outside display is a monochrome LCD. You can only adjust the contrast .

2. It's reception should'nt be any dif. from the cam phones. Unless the extra cam hardware might cause a slight reduction. Not sure.
My vx4500 has much better rec. than any phone I've had.

So one would be stuck w/ that ugly green display on the VX4500's outside LCD screen?

That's good to hear that the reception is great. One guy here warned me that the reception is disappointing vs. other LG phones he has/had.

The only reception difference I could see is if you're in a fringe area for digital. The 6100 has analog as well. I have a 6100, my wife has a 4500. I see no difference in signal quality.

I was merely stating {what seemed obvious } and why, your post went unansered for a while by other people who have been on here longer than me and could have ansered your question for you..

in your type of situtation, it is a good idea to say something about being short of time and or experience

there is so much info here ; that only the uncommon questions about the newest of phones , is the only thing that hasn't been covered

thats ok dude, i guess if the shoe was on the other foot, perhaps I would have felt the same. Like you said, there is tons and tons of info on this site, it is awesome. I just gotta dedicate more time in my quest for certain searches.
