Jabra EarWave Boom compatibility with GD88

I just got this handfree from eBay. The button for call/hangup/voice-dialing doesn't response to my phone. Is this normal?

That button works independently from your phone, so i'd say it's broken.

if it is for hanging up and activating voicedial, it has to have a collar. Headsets that do this for Nokia phones have a different jack. The one for X70, X700 and GD87 have a collar around the conductor. If you have no collar then your headset will not activate those functions. Look at the OEM peice.

what is a collar? is it a line of hole at the conductor? I tried the handfree on my friend's samsung phone, and it did the job.
